Another Kenyan getting this phone on the great Safaricom deal! 100 dollars with free credit and data unbelievable!

                                      Only downsides:
-Short battery life (all smartphones are like this though!)
-Typing is a pain on the tiny touchscreen keyboard, not for SMS addicts!

                                      Some tips:

-This phone has mobile hotspot ability! This turns your phone into a wifi router so you can use the internet on your laptop using the data/line in the phone! Settings->Wireless->Tethering and hotspot to configure!

-Rooting the device works easily using an app called z4root. After this you can get an app called Market Access. (Both these apps you need to download using the browser, as they're not on the market). Configure it to behave as T-Mobile USA and you will have access to many more apps than normal using the market including the new Google Maps 5. It will also allow you to access paid apps. The trick with paid apps is to go to Google Checkout on your computer, login with your Google account, then add a Kenyan credit card. Now when you try to buy an app on the phone, it will automatically charge the credit card!

posh, 23 Jan 2011the phone is great but the only cons crops from battery lif... more200mb is better than some phones, HTC Desire is only left with ~130mb for apps after Froyo is installed!
