I am having a heating issue with this phone for couple of days now. Playing games for 10min tend to heat the phone upto 40C now. Screen gets hot even when im not playing games. Watching youtube or video call heats the phone. Does anyone have this problem?? Can a update fix this or my phone has a problem??

I was wondering where you are located that the phone is yet to have any updates... I must confess that's very unlikely. I bought mine a year after its release in October 2019, and got the updates to android 9 and EMUI 9 and 9.1 almost within the first month of purchase.
Have you checked for any notifications from the apps that let you know there's an update...?

Never recieved an update since I bought it in Aug 2019,it still runs EMUI 8.2 and Android 8.1 when I check for updates it claims its up to date, its a lousy phone and because of lack of updates I doubt its security

Nil, 09 May 2020Still wishing that huawei will surprise us and give the and... moreThat's the latest I want to hear from Huawei. But I've thought about it a lot though. I think the most important effect I'm missing is the AODs.
That's said, I'm not a fan of the color pallete that the update brings. The most important addition in my eyes are the always-on-display (AOD) and the smart charging. I guess I enjoy the dark mode courtesy of the various apps and themes that bring that to the table.
Am I off here? Please ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

Anonymus, 22 Apr 2020So when are they going to give Emui 10 to huawei y9 2019?..... moreI can't give you a date, but they (Huawei) have kindly given dates to other phones that are closely related to it. Like the Y9 prime and the Y9s.
That said, with all the noise about it, especially from change.org, it would be poor on their part to now release updates that would detrimental to the phone, or indirectly, their current international standing. Xiaomi made the mistake twice with the MI A2 that received the update and bricked the devices.
I've been fortunate to have been replied that the possibility is there for the update, but the release would be in batches.
The latest response is not encouraging nor specific however. But you can check the support app on your device and search emui 10 update discussion. That's what I did too. Unfortunately, the Y9 2019 was not among those listed yet.
I've posted links from blogs and Twitter here in the past, where they had mentioned the device for possible updates but no dates were mentioned.
In conclusion, I would like to wait till when they're certain than get an update that will mess up my device.

your comment is wrong, i have,huawei honor 8x ,since Feb 2019 and started with android 8.0-8.1 for it to go to 9.0-9.1 and from a week ago it is 10.0 and now for my xiaomi redmi note 8 i bought it feb.2020 and still is on android 9.0, and note the honor 8x are daily updated by a few apps from the play store, while for xiaomi for 2 months only 3 apps were updated

Don't ever buy huawei mid-range phones..they don't roll out major updates..go for xiaomi handsets,they are much better
