The complaints you're having are just too many to be a brand new phone you bought.
Phone is still my daily driver for the last 4 years. I've been very careful with the battery. I don't leave overnight to charge, and it lasts for most of the day, switching off usually by 4pm if I'm not with my power bank.
Like you all know, it's not gorilla glass, so it has scratches but it's survived a major fall, cracking the screen but it still works. I'm not a gaming person, yet it serves for virtually anything. Still has decent pictures too.
It's crashed (got a virus or something) once, and lost essentially all the data on the device, but most were restored as I'd saved them on Huawei cloud and Google... Most of my stuff was still safe on the memory card too.
Also recently, after updating it to the last one before the crash, (9.l.0 396) , I found there's another update for it. 9.1.0.507 at 2.9gig
Anyone seen this or received it?

I'm using the phone since 2019. No problem at all. Performance all good. I love this phone so much. Battery still ok. Camera is good. Everything is good. But it can support until android 9 only. Some apps now asking me to upgrade new device.

I had the UAE version (JKM-LX1)
Kirin 710 with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage
Stuck on Android 9 unfortunately
Camera quality is okay 6/10 compared to an iPhone
Gaming performance is okay too but triple-A games will stress the device
Battery life is excellent
Sadly I lost this phone walking home

i just purchase my Huawei Y 9 smartphone.i cant go thru the configuration process because all the text are in Chinese script.
How can I get the instructions in another language (english or french)?

Saber , 04 Jan 2023Same experience, now battery performance is not good.Go to system update and see if there are any updates. Update the phone and The battery will return to normal performance. I was experiencing the same problem but when I updated it. It normalised

You can trust my opinion because I've been using this phone for over 3 years. 2023 is the 4th year.
So, it has a 128 GB internal storage, 4.0 GB of RAM, an android 9, an EMU.I version of 9.1.0, a 2340 × 1080 resolution, a Hisilicon Kirin 710 CPU. It has a pretty decent camera, but a crappy battery life, it doesn't support 5G, but it is long lasting, generally cheap. I don't suggest buying it for a year like 2023 because it's sorta of an entry level phone and doesn't support heavy graphic games.

U... moreIt's not the phone that's deleting apps, you have to take a look at what apps you have downloaded and get rid of all the cache on each that you may have once used but no longer do. Just check on chrome, there are probably hundreds of websites, parts of apps, that you have unwittingly left enter your phone.

used huawei y9 2019 for 2 full years without any problems but now 3rd year the battery is swollen and i fear it can explode any time...still love my phone..

The simple fact that older Huawei phones are the best viewed on this website shows that current Huawei phones are DOA and so is the band outside of China. Xiaomi took over its place. If that's any good is up to yourself to decide.

i used this phone for 4 years almost and no issue at all owing screen or software. its screen is strong and can bear heavy falls But you need to use protector because it can catch scratches on back and front, overall its a good phone and worth its price.

So guys am in Nigeria, and I bought the huawei y9 2019 jkm-lx1 which is 6gb /128gb
Initially I started having screen glitches, then it went away. Almost a month later, the battery swole up and I had to change it.
Now the percentage it shows while switched on is not the same while switched off and charging.
Now the phone isn't showing any possible updates
Mine is still in jkm-lx1 8.2.0.160 (c185)
While there is an update of 9.1 but it isnt showing
I also can't get 4g on my mtn sim while using the device
If anyone can find solutions to my few problems
