    To amr,

    Boy can you talk crap.
I don't know what device YOU have, but it sure aint an i-mate KJam!!!
This device is not made for dodos.
I have had mine for almost three months now and I don't have ANY of the problems that you have mentioned.
Perhaps YOU should stick to nokias or motorollas!!!

    KJAM ROCKS!!!!!
    I highly recommend it.

Don't buy it. It's slow, screen is tiny and unaccurate, the OS freezes and crashes everyday and the bundled software doesn't work.
I'll try to return it to the store and change it with a PDA2K, which is a bigger brick but it works.
            Keep eyes open.

For all the fans, sorry to say that, but this one is a non-ergonomic device, that has lots of features in a compact size, with an unacceptable performance, low processor speed and low battery life, in general, and becomes worse when extra memory is pluged-in.There are meg's of downloads for it, but unluckely, Windows CE is the worst Mobile OS I've ever seen. I did the mistake and bought 2 CE devices so far (i-PAQ, and K-JAM), I wouldn't do this ever again....
One more thing, the touch screen is a big joke, it is simply unreliable and deosn't remeber the setting more than a week. Two things I have to do every week , restart the device to wipe out all CE junk files, and re-align my taps over the screen.

bit dim this but I cannot get the k-jam to accept incoming calls by ringing more than 3 times. I can't seem to adjust it to accept 8 rings before going to answerphone. 3 just isn't enough to get to it before it switches to answerphone. Any ideas ???

does anyone know if you can do a refreshable slte survey with the wifi option, as in you can scan for new networks at any time as is with the o2 as some of the HP pda's dont have this feature

To Unknown re sound quality of phone. I don't know what phone YOU have mate, but my KJam's sound in EVERY aspect is SUPERB!!! Perhaps you need to adjust the volume? It could also be that you are in a poor reception area and that will affect the sound quality.

I mention for the first time as no body mentioned it before !! when you make a call the sound quality is not clear at all and the other party also feels that the sound is little strange with some sort of reverb and distortion !!!!! its the same problem on the old Imate Jame !!! I thought that they will fix it but after i bought the phone it still the same !! my friend bought it too and has the same problem !!! only the big Imate - PDA2k and old models (big ones) has good sound quality!
Now I am using sony ericsson W800 temporarly till I buy a new business phone ( I am thinking of Nokia E61 or SE P990) because SE and NOKIA allways have good sound quality, I think HTC sacrificed the call quality with these new small pocket PCS.

Hi again guys. Well, it's been almost two months since I have had my i-mate KJam. I just get more and more impressed every day. There is so much freeware available that can enhance this device, it's scary!!! Just be careful what you install as I have had to do one hard reset already. Fortunately I had everything backed up.

Transferring contacts from a Nokia (or any other phone) is simple, if not lengthy if you want all your contact details. You can copy all your contact mobile numbers on the SIM card, or better, you can bluetooth each contact to your KJam. This is lengthy, but worthwhile.

You MUST get MORTPLAYER, which is a FAR better MP3 Player than Windows Media Player, and it's FREEWARE!!! TCPMP is a must if you want to watch movies on your KJAM. YES, you heard correctly. I watch full feature movies on my KJAM with TCPMP and the avi converter. It converts a 1.4GB AVI file to pocketpc format to around 400MB!!!! AND, without loss of quality!!! It runs superbly and smoothly.

I also recommend Calculator98 which is also FREEWARE and does just about everything including ALL unit of measurement conversions including currencies. I also recomment "Funnysnake Theme Creator". Now you can create your own themes on your phone!!! There is also an app for your PC to create themes.

I have Superdoku, Tetris and tons of other games all of which are FREEWARE. I also have Doom and Quake I & II, including Warcraft II!!! Just do a Google search.

Finally, another very useful app is UPTIME Monitor, which gives you your battery stats on the Today Screen.

Enjoy your device guys and don't be scared to experiment. The KJam ROCKS!!!!!

I bought this phone, absolutly love it! There isn't a single thing about it that i'm not happy with. I played with a Jamin before getting this and the JasJar but for price/spec I found this to be much better having the full keyboard. The camera doesn't worry me over the Jamin, 1.3MP is plenty.
