slim - that's a good question, in fact, everyone is asking that! haha

Like I referenced to on the post below, some sites are saying it won't be out until jan/feb/march next year, but I've also found some websites offering a pre-order option for this phone, stating that they'll recieve stock around Dec 26th.. The 9502 is supposed to be officially released in Singapore right about now. Luckily IMate is also largely U.S. oriented, so it's possible that we'll be seeing it available at the end of this month... I'm crossing my fingers, but I have my doubts.

slim - the 9502 does not have an FM radio. You can find the detailed specs of all the ultimate series phones on imate's website.

I was browsing some other forums, and came accross this quote from I-Mate...

"Dear Sir/Ma'am, Thank you for contacting club i-mate™ Technical Support. We highly appreciate the enthusiasm shown. With regards to your query, please be advised that the i-mate™ Ultimate 9502's expected time of arrival will be on the first quarter of 2008. In terms of pricing, we haven't got any rough estimates yet. Kindly bear with us for the time being and check back after a couple of months."

The guy who asked about Jamaica...
I was there about 5 years ago, and I found that a triband GSM phone worked ok there. The 9502 is quadband GSM. So it should work ok even if only using GSM.

anyone have any experience with Imate's wlan? The phone I have now is so tempermental with the wlan. I hope this phone's hardware is more reliable, and not as much a negotiation like the phone I have now, regarding the wlan.

I dont understand why they dont include a fm radio in every phone. this would be a good fone around 500 dollars like the new sidekick

i hope the camera is good. the 3.15 mpx will be of no use if the min resolution is less then QVGA and 20 fps.

Fantastic specification. I even like the colour and look of it. I want one.

The only thing I think it's lacking is a hole for a strap. A strap has saved me dropping my old Atom several times.

It would also be good to know if the microSD slot is microSDHC (High Capacity). The Imate specs only say microSD in which case the storage is limited to 2GB. Some people seem to think it's microSDHC (www.pdadb.net included) which I think goes up to 8GB now. I'm hoping it's the latter, but is probably the former.

But strap or not, HC or not, I'm getting really sick of waiting for Imate to release something. Due out in December? Yeah, right!

Is it some sick game they're playing?

Don't worry, even if it do go bust some other big company will buy them off so you won't be left without assistance. IF they go bust it will be a repeat of Ericsson buyout of Sony. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft buys them out.

no, windows smartphones can be used as just pdas (obviously cannot use phone and text features)

Any OFFICIAL word on pricing yet? I gotta admit that I'm very apprehensive as to whether or not this phone actually is made available - it's basically everything I ever wanted in a phone, minus the missing FM-radio.
