Follow these steps--
1. Go to menu then to settings then to about phone.
2. Choose the system updates- it will automatically tell you about the upgrade and if it
does not then you can ask it to look for the upgrade and then click ok to download.
3. Once downloaded choose the option of install update and you are sorted.
And in case you find it confusing or if you are not confident then check out your nearest LAVA service centrefor the upgrade of Atom 2 and they will help you out.
Points to remember-
Battery full charged, space- 600MB (that is what they say in the website), stable internet
connection, time & patience

And since it is a FOTA update, you do not need to go to service centre (but you will always have the option) for such a minor thing. Go to menu of your phone. Select the stings. Choose the option for About phone. Select the system update (After that your phone will detect the upgrade package). And then choose the option of download. Once your upgrade is downloaded then choose the option of install the update. and have your newly upgraded phone at your disposal.

Pre conditions:
Keep your phone fully charged to be on the safe side while updating. Also make sure that you are connected to a stable network- preferably Wi-Fi so that your update takes place smoothly. And most importantly make sure there is more than enough space in your phone say about 600-700MB.
• Go to menu- settings- about phone- system update- the device will automatically detect the updating package.
• Tap on Ok to download.
• Once the download is complete – tap on the install update option.

Navneet, 29 Aug 2015My atom 2 phone takes 5-6 hours to complete the battery fro... moreyes same problem is coming in lava irist 2 atom, last 5 -6 days we try the battery charging it is charging within 6-7 hours 0-100% full charge where as another phone charge 1-2 hr maximum.

Make sure that phone must have 600 MB storage space and connected to wi-fi. Copy the update package to SD card or internal storage. Then go to Menu and open Settings then Scroll Down and Select about Phone and Press System Update. Finally press Continue to download the package. Now your Lava Iris Atom2 smartphone has been upgraded.

Upgrading the Android by yourself is a tricky business as its confusing or time consuming and sometimes we are not able to download it successfully. I would highly recommended you to check out the nearest lava service center as they would be able to help you out with the upgrade in Iris Atom 2.

My friend recently upgraded her Lava Atom 2 to Lollipop 5.1. It was quite a simple task. She followed some very easy steps. First she connected the device to her PC to download the package. But, before that she ensured 600 MB space was available in her phone’s memory. Then she created a backup of her phone data and charged its battery to full 100 %. And then she copied the package to the phone storage. She opened the menu, scrolled down to settings, selected about and finally activated system updates. The updates showed the available package, which she continued to download and upgraded the Android to Lollipop.
