I don't know if the previous version will be enough for me. in Europe it is a massacre between imports and taxes. Among all there are over 100 euros of difference between the old and new model. Unfortunately the producers don't push much on this format which is excellent for transport. 11 inch tablets are bulky and heavy. the alternative would be ipad mini which still has a significant price even if with local guarantee which is not cheap ( pity oee 60 hz screen and related problems ) my use would be more for streaming from the usual platforms

However I wasn't trying to start a discussion, just wondering why in some markets this seems more important. As NeonHD said, something like fiber costing more than 4G might make sense (I know in Ireland it's the exact same thing).
Another example: In the late 90s South Africa was way way ahead on mobile adoption. Why? Well, due to their crime levels copper cable theft was still a huge issue in those days (where today new deployments are all fiber which is worthless). So people started preferring mobiles due to less outages.

Anonymous, 17 Aug 2023Why doesn't it have symmetrical bezels? They wanted to minimize the bezels while keeping the selfie off the main screen-so the top bezel is bigger-Thank goodness they did not yield to the bezel police and maintained a true full-screen experience.

GP123, 18 Aug 2023Why is it such a thing in India? Here in Europe there... moreWhat happens when you are traveling in a car (without your own in-car data service)? or out say in a park or on some nature trip? (am not talking of gaming by the river) Still have wifi? Lenovo is weird in not releasing a data-capable version-also instead of providing software updates they come out with a new model with the same old wifi only handicap...bet even this one next year goes the same way-this is what they did with the legion phones too

NeonHD, 18 Aug 2023Perhaps they're rarely in their homes, or wifi costs m... morePossibly yes, but this is why I asked :) I'm very interested in such regional differences. I really wonder what attracts different societies to different features.
And I see what you mean yes. I didn't intend that though :)
PS: I so wish they'd sell this thing here. The price performance ratio is insane. Even with the Europe Value Added Tax and other crap on top, it would cost 400 euros. Right now we can't get anything that good for that kind of money. The only Lenovo tablets we see in the shop here are cheap mediatek and unisoc trash. Only Samsung sells some top tablets but they're ridiculously expensive. And I love the smaller form factor too, for portability.

Here in Europe there... morePerhaps they're rarely in their homes, or wifi costs more than a data plan?
Also, my mind went completely somewhere else when I saw "models" and then "huuuge batteries" 😂

People in India be like: THIS TABLET SUX!!!!!!11111Why is it such a thing in India?
Here in Europe there's wifi everywhere and getting an extra data sim is expensive (though multisim is slowly becoming a thing) but I guess not in India?
I also notice that India focused models tend to have huuuge batteries (think Samsung M series), I was also wondering why that's such a thing there. I'd imagine power is something they'd have everywhere?

So apart the missing positioning chips/licenses and mobile radios, and of course the screen size, this tablet would be my go to phone in 2023, maybe even 2024 Under 400eur.

Having SD8G1+ while being cheaper than the last generation is an absolute win.
But at the same time that means thermals are likely a problem.
