Today, was very awkward experience for me. For the day I used my P2 no problem, then in the evening I did get it from pocket to check something and phone was completely dead, nothing seemed to work. I panicked, went home, plugged in charger - nothing... I panicked more, went to shop and bought galaxy m51 as replacement. Went home again, started to read M51 instruction and there was text "if your phone gets unresponsive hold power and volume key more then 7 secs". I did it for Lenovo P2... and... guess what it showed recovery menu, I did reboot from there and sure enough, phone booted normally. I feel trolled by P2 (never happened before) and at the same time can only blame myself for not knowing such simple trick. I did know that holding those buttons should bring recovery (and did that before), but trick was to hold them more than for 7 secs... So, I can return M51 or I can keep it and ditch P2, which is awesome phone for me, but have some hardware problems in my device. After quick thinking I think its time to move on, I will switch to M51... so, no more posts about P2 in this space. Epic phone it was for the time. Respect.

@burny If I look very carefully at the bottom of the screen i portrait mode, I see fading in the shape of the 3 Android system buttons on the screen, which are ever present with my system settings. This screen is therefore vulnerable to burn-in, but it really is very very slight and, considering it is in the location of the system buttons, not very noticeable. This is after a full 4 years of daily use. The battery is still staggeringly good, the system still keeps up with the latest updates and I have found that very carefully cleaning the screen of grease with microfibre cloth or IPA wipes resolves any occasional issues with touch insensitivity. The camera is very much nothing to write home about but everything else is brilliant. I have still yet to see a useable modern phone that supports all the usual apps but boasting this incredible battery life. Brilliant for travel (when it is allowed again...)

Burny, 25 Mar 2021How about screen burned?@Burny - there is no such problem (screen burning) for this phone (at least to my knowledge). There is other problem though - parts of screen (in my case 2 lines) dont respond to touches at all after some time using. Happened to me with 2 same model phones (second one started to have this problem after ~6month of use. First one - i cant remember). Neverless I still use this phone and like it.

Fast charging have no issue. It's just if your phone is warm, it charges normally. When the phone cools down to a certain point it starts to fast charge again.

My fast charging issue has been solved by cleaning the micro usb port on the phone.

I thought it was the cable (from Lenovo thelself so I thought it would ben good) and bought a new one but it still doesn't fast charge. I think the battery is sort of broken.

And the charging port is getting problematic. I need to put in very gently to charge and it only loads very slow. On the other hand it is starting to drain really fast.
However it's still the best phone I ever had. I don't think there are a lot of phones that would hold up this long. (+'4 years)

Its have been 3 years 5 months my phone and charger is working well. I like this phone. I have purchased this for battery I am really happy with battery performance.

I wish if i had bought it back in 2017 instead of lenovo phablet 2 the difference was only 55 usd but i was not understand any numbers

Of all the classic smartphones I've come across that stand out are Blackberry Classic, Samsung Note 3, Lenovo P2, Honor Play. Especially in terms of value price performance ratio.

Deca, 27 Oct 2020is there any phone similar to the lenovo p2???In terms of battery life, no. There are no other smartphones that have an AMOLED screen with FHD resolution that can match this Lenovo.
