I just wanted to let people know: i just got the Lenovo Smart Tab M8 model TB-8505FS (wifi only) and was able to update it to Android 10 & recent security patch by using Lenovo Smart Assistant (LMSA) program, which can be downloaded from the official Lenovo or Motorola website. Doing this will factory reset the device, erasing all of your data. Toodles.

I've been contemplating if I will buy Lenovo M8 or Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2019) tomorrow. And you said that speaker and the brightness are much better in Samsung. And besides I don't know if this Lenovo can be upgraded to the latest Android software. I just wish that Samsung has OTG capability too.

Last update guys.
I received the galaxy tab 8.0 and as predicted I will keep the Samsung.
It is only slightly heavier and bigger. If you will not use a case then maybe u may prefer using the Lenovo m8 for this exact reason. But that would mean you lose higher screen brightness and end up with bad sound quality in speakers.
Angle visibility is potentially only minimally worse than the m8 IPS screen, but it could actually be the same or even better angle visibility because the screen in the Samsung is noticeably brighter!
You can leave the brightness setting on Samsung tab 8.0 on 85% but with the Lenovo m8 the screen must always be at 100%. Combine that with the fact that IPS screen consume more energy than IPS so the battery life on the Samsung will also be better without a doubt.
The sound quality on the Samsung is much more tolerable. And the samsung UI as well as the options are much better than the Lenovo. On top of that the Lenovo has no ambient light sensor (auto brightness) so this will further negatively impact the Lenovo battery life.
The only good thing about the Lenovo is the colors are slightly deeper, but the contrast on the Samsung is still great and it's not worth the downsides of the Lenovo.
Conclusion: tft Samsung is better than ips Lenovo!
I hope this Review will make some gsmarena readers happy.
Greetings to the good looking crew at gsmarena!

I just ordered the galaxy tab a 8.0,
Because I dislike two things about the Lenovo m8:
#1. The speakers, though not the worst, are really bad imo. Not even sure if this tablet can pair with my anker soundcore 2 properly, because at first glance it's giving some problems.
#2. The UI is really bad. I guess its between Google original UI and just boring nothingness. I personally prefer Samsung or Huawei UI.
According to a lot of research,
The Samsung TFT screen is probably going to be mildly better or mildly worse than the Lenovo IPS screen.
Could it be that IPS is not always better? I will soon find out :-)
