          My yoga Tab 2 830F has a microphone, it is on the opposite side of the USB. I can record sounds surprisingly good. But my Yoga hasn't got a slot for a sim-card, so no phone-calls.

              Bought this tablet,the 830 CL model,loved it for the first month,now it's rendered almost useless due the lollipop update,I've read a lot of comments before updating as I had a lot of doubt about the update as I've heard a lot of negative feedback about it,yet I took a leap of faith and I did it regardless and I wish I never did,the tablet is ruined for me now,so for the sake of other customers who may fall in the same horrible mistake,I will make a thorough comparison between both software versions,mentioning my experience with both,here it goes:
              Stock Firmware,Kitkat,no updates:
              -draws a lot of similarities with the latest version of IOS, the notification toggles that extend from the bottom of the screen,The recent apps menu,the separate notification bar from the top,The UI overall has a consistent form and aims at a certain form factor even if that being a replicate of another UI.
              -Decent customization across the board,with the most handy features being the screenshot button,double tap to lock and the Dolby app that could almost double the sound performance on the tablet with the presets.
              ====>The Negatives and the bugs:
              -Slow animations all the time,in the recent apps menu and some of the standard apps like google play and so on,some apps run fast and some seems to be slow,they don't lag,just slow.
              -Lag,heavy lag in some simple games,a prime example of that is sky chasers,while the tablet performs admirably in most conditions and chugs through most demanding without a sweat,it sometimes struggles badly with some of the simpler games.
              -Move to SD feature not working properly,only two massive games were able to actually move their data to the SD card successfully,hearthstone and world of tanks,anything else was a mere illusion ,as for the other games,they seem to be moving their data to the SD card but they're not,in reality they're just moving the APK only to the SD card,it seems that after all,we'd have to pick and choose which games we can have on the device.
              -Aggressive thermal throttling on every game,EVERY GAME,no matter how light that game is,as soon as the GPU kicks in,brightness is reduced and you get the thermal throttling message.
              -Despite the battery being good for what it is and providing 5 hours of screen on time on average,it's unstable,losing 10% overnight,and losing 2 or 3% within a minute at times and gaining them back on the next minute and it's not even charging
              -The Dolby app returns to it's standard preset after you unplug your headphone from the tablet.
              -sometimes the tablet wouldn't wake up after sleep,you have to push the power button several times until it wakes up.
              Despite all these bugs,the tablet was still perfectly usable and a joy to use as well.
              -----LOLLIPOP update,latest firmware update:
              Lenovo chose this time around to go with a stock android version,a move I was very welcoming of,as a stock android version would help increase the performance,reduce bugs,increase stability,reduce bloatware and show you android the way it was meant to be,however I was surprised that this was an ill revised version of android,they just updated it without any bug testing or quality assurance,like they were forced to update the tablet against their will.
              -The good:
              -Noticeable jump in performance,The UI is a lot smoother now and the apps that use to have slow animation are now running buttery smooth,although the recent apps menu is still somewhat slow,games run better too with some exceptions,hearthstone ran buttery smooth,in fact it's the best device so far I've seen running hearthstone,it ran it almost on par with a fully fledged PC,and I ran that game on significantly more powerful android devices and was met with underwhelming performance.
              -Cleaner,simpler UI that goes in tandem with what google had mind,with the pleasing material design aesthetics.
              -No memory Leakage problems,since 5.0.1 was infamous for having it,glad Lenovo at least bothered to fix this.
              -Most of the bugs from Kitkat are now gone but are replaced with even more hideous bugs that outright render this tablet useless.
              ======>The BAD and the bugs:
              -Ridiculous locking on the SD card,no game is able to move their data to the SD card,except for one game,world of tanks,anything else failed miserably,so that means you're now even more limited with the choice of games you can have.
              -Without doing a factory reset,the tablet suffers random reboots or lockdowns,we're it gets stuck on the booting off animation and stays like that until you manually restart the tablet.
              -Oddly,the Youtube audio is always out of sync.
              -Some games wouldn't function anymore after the update,even after a fresh install,some of them showing an overlay of black textures over everything,making gameplay impossible,some games lagged even worse after the lollipop update,sky chasers performed even worse here.
              -all customization is removed from the tablet,no double to lock or anything,basically it's a true vanilla version of android.
              -Battery life is now even worse,losing over 10% of battery on standby within 5 hours,with an abysmal screen on time of 3 and half hours or 4 hours at most,considering this tablet outclasses any other tablet within the same range with sheer battery capacity,that of a 6400 mAh capacity.
              -And the worst offender being the horrible WiFi connection,sometimes interrupting for long periods at a time or being extremely slow,I haven't been able to pinpoint exactly when this happens,so I have to turn off the WiFi until the tablet decides that it wants to work properly again,it's becoming an absolute pain to use the tablet,since most of its usage depends heavily on WiFi.
              -Even more aggressive thermal throttling now,with the brightness being reduced dramatically,to below 35% percent of brightness,which is absurd.
              That mostly concludes my problems with the lollipop "update" if that's the right word for it,I personally am not going to buy another Lenovo device again,if they don't redeem themselves by fixing this mess of an update or providing a well revised,stable,bug free version of marshmallow,Lenovo seems to care only for gaining new customers,not keeping them,this horrible customer care service will be their downfall,a shame really,because the YOGA lineup is one their best efforts yet when it comes to android tablets,good pricing,fantastic design,an exquisite DAC unit from wolfson providing a rich audio experience using the speakers and the headphone jack and a fantastic display,promising hardware,horrible software.
              I wish I could back to kitkat but it seems to be impossible,as Manufacturers don't provide a way to go back to older version of android in case if the new version has proven to be problematic,not to mention intel made it quite the pain to root any of their android devices including this one,it's even harder to root on lollipop now and so I stand waiting for the dim hope of a fix or a marshmallow that would probably never arrive,Never again Lenovo.

                My yoga 2 tab (8 in) shuts off abruptly (due to over heating ? on 3G ) ,
                some times refuses to turn on from sleep,
                and very recently displays one, two or three vertical lines (on portrait mode - due to over heating ? on 3G) .
                Once it hangs, It takes a lot of time to reboot it - by holding the power key. I need to replace the mother board. But it is not available in the market.

                      Anonymous, 19 Mar 2016I have yoga Tablet , can I make phone call with the tab. I have a YOGA Tablet 2-830F
                      It hasn't exactly the same specifications as the one here. I don't have a slot for a sim, which this one has, but mine has a 4 core Processor 1.86 GHZ. The one here 1.33 GHZ. the rest of it is the same. So I think not all are exactly as this one here. You have to ask the company.
