So it´s not an easy phone to set mainly because as many said before this is a smartphone made for China which eventually land outside China.
So there are two ways of getting this phone. Either with Chinese/ English or a Global version.
The chinese version is the best way to enjoy your phone, because the entire ROM is build upon ZUI. There are a lot of features only available with this version. The downside is, it´s either in English or chinese, and there issues with notifications mainly with whatsapp.
The Global version is more limited on resources and it´s an atempt to build sotck Android over ZUI. Honestly I don´t know why Lenovo decided to this way, maybe because of notifications. With the global version you do receive notifications.
To get full OTA updates you should do a procedure (check Youtube) it´s very easy. Outside the box you won´t get full updates. Long story short, this smartphone requires some envolvment.
Once this is solved, it´s a trully good smartphone. Great screen and camera, batery life, yes it´s excellent for gaming.
you do have great support for this phone and there is already an android 10 BETA version under development.

somebody, 28 Jan 2020i am sad to hear so, i have ordered one from china, I still... moreThe phone itself will be good for all apps and games available for Android. It is not marketed as a gaming phone but the internal build features excellent heat pipe cooling design for unflagging action. I'm not a gamer but I use my phone for long hours of multimedia on travel. It's one of the best bargains out there for a solid Qualcomm 855 design.
Lots of posts here that the Chinese/English ROM is the way to go as it gets the latest OTA updates and builds a lot faster than the Global version, you can flash it if it doesn't come already installed. I went for the C/E version myself but I read that the latest Global is actually not bad. You might get more technical answers on the XDA-Developers site where they tinker with a lot with phone firmwares.

somebody, 24 Jan 2020let us know if you get an Android 10 stable updatemy last update was 11.0.123 global version and i can still find some minor issues regarding always on display , i can´t set a different ring tone.
Is there any way to update next updates ? I know there new updates but the phone itself is unable to find them, at least via OTA.
Don´t know if I keep the phone or change it, i love the design, great camera but it´s inexistant software support makes me wonder if a Xiaomi is a better deal.... I don´t mind not having fast updates but i do mind not having a bug free software.

Excellente phone. Got mine today , european version with global version. It´s amazing, impresses me on every single detail: build quality, screen, camera....
It may not be the perfect phone, but it´s very fast trust me, great RAM management, you can have tons of apps that you can still access them and return just where you left them.
What I´m most impressed is the macro camera! The macro details it´s out of this world.
Sound quality is very good thanks to dolby atmos inside.
Very unique, not many even know that Lenovo manufactures samrtphones so i´d say it´s unique on it´s own.
previous phone was a oneplus 5T. i set up the entire phone and charge it in one hour!

Anonymous, 17 Jan 2020No One here seems to have the global version to comment on ... moreI was browsing JD.com, sort of the Amazon of China, and the official Lenovo store there seems to offer worldwide shipping of the Chinese ROM phone. You can use Google Translate or Chrome with built in translation if you don't know Chinese as there is no multi language version of the site. In China JD has same or next day delivery but ordering from another country will likely take 3 or 4 weeks by the time it goes through your customs. And you will be hit with extra taxes by your local government for the privilege.

Anonymous, 17 Jan 2020Why? Is the global version that bad without ZUI? I mean ... moreSlow OTA updates, some slow to be addressed instability, lacking some advanced features as Lenovo is adding capabilities with each iteration. For example, EIS on all cameras as well as OIS on the 2.0MP camera added OTA with the English/Chinese version, is it on the global yet? ZUI is a light modification/enhancement to the base Android OS with better gestures and added features. You can opt out if you want as most of the enhanced features are in the installed ZUI Lab app.

Lenovo just pushed out another OTA update bringing the Android 10 ZUI OS to version 11.5.222 ST. Seems to be mostly enhancements to the Lenovo 1 feature set where you can use the phone as a universal controller and some bug/usability fixes. Can't complain about any lack of useful updates or responsiveness by Lenovo for this phone.
I saw that XDA-developers just posted a first custom ROM effort for the Z6 Pro, that is a work in progress but will be fun to follow for techies.
