I have a question not a comment. Does this phone have voice activation to make calls? The LG phones that I've had in the past had this feature. Can't find it with this model

I have had a LG CU500 for a month, ( got it free at Cingular). The sales guy actually pounded on his open phone with his fist as a demo and it sold me. The phone works great overall. It takes nice pictures, sounds good, easy to use, no dropped calls, ( better by far than my old Motorola V160). What really impressed me is the battery life, I have only had to recharge a few times, even with heavy picture use. Overall, a definite good phone, especially for free!

I have had the CU500 for over a month now, to all the morons thinking it doesn't get recognized by their computer. You have to have the micro SD card for it to be read by the computer. As far as using the voice recorder for a ringtone, no that isn't an option unless you download a plug-in to convert amr to mp3. The sound, quality of service has been great and I strongly recommend getting a new 3g sim card if you are having dropped call issues. Otherwise it's an overall great phone.

i never liked lg phones, but this one is alright.just dont buy the phone carriers sd memory card.you can buy it at office depot or circuit city for 30.00 bucks.get a memory card reader.stick it in your usb.drag n drop your mp3s.also go to cnet downloads.download for free plato video to 3gp converter.this will turn all your videos to 3gp.then drag n drop.

Does any one know if we can set the phone to connect only to the GSM network without trying to connect to the UMTS netwrok ??
If yes then this should help to solve the drop call issue !!!!!

The LG CU500 is a wonderful phone. If you want a phone, MP3 player, 1.3mp Camera and Video recorder phone. I have been able to unlock mine through Cingular so I use it on T-Mobile (works great on that one too).

To all the call droppers out there,... Upgrade your SIM to the 3G card.

Highly Recommend for a second "going out" phone (since I use a HTC TyTN PDA Phone). Great battery, great volume, great MP3 player. Recommend getting the VX600 USB cable to go with it and MicroSD card up to 1GB. Overall really a good phone.

Nice looking phone and music sound good but not software so good luck if you tried to put music or pictures on it.. I have a lot of drop calls since I have the LG-cu500 Not recommended at all. Cingular people said that you don't need a software just plug in to the PC ....NOT TRUE ... I have tried in three different PC and they do not recognize the phone. LG cu500 a very bad choice

I seem to drop calls often as well. I've had it for 5 days.

Horrible software issues... always having dropped calls with this phone. It's very unfortunate, I love how this phone has every feature possible and the fact that it runs on the 3G network blows my mind. I would wait for a software upgrade than reconsider. For now i'm returning it and useing my spare Nokia 6102i.

MP3's are easy. Buy a micro SD card (1Gb b/c there is apparently some issues w/ 2 Gb) Then just transfer the MP3 from your computer to the micro SD card. Put it in the phone then follow the regular instructions.

All of these wonderful phones LG, Samsung, Motorola, ad Nokia have to offer, only to have a 1.3 megapixel camera. This is the next generation in technology, it should be a minumum of 2Mp, 3Mp at most. Otherwise, everthing is O.K.

Cingular Video operates even if you are in EDGE. The only difference between running it in UMTS and EDGE is that with EDGE it has to buffer every now and then. UMTS just makes it smooth.
