I recently purchased LG G 1600 set and found it is a good one, except a feature INFRARED and CAMERA. rest of the features are unbeatable.
IS THERE ANYONE who can tel me whether I can use some device which can be connected via it's USB port, so that I can use Infrared adapter (if available) and separate CAMERA (if available).
Any help will be appriciated.

LG G1600 drivers are for serial (9pin) connector only and can be d/l from http://in.wowlg.com and is like 16MB. It is also on http://www.lgservice.com . Where did you score a USB cable??
As for connection problems. I found that if it is installed to a drive other than c:\ it will not work (I dual boot and my win xp system drive was f:\ so I had to install to c:\ for it to work....very strange) Other than that make sure the serial (COM) port is set for 115200 bps in device manager (right click my computer->properties->hardware->device manager) and also that you connect with the software at the same speed. Other than that it should work no probs!

Good phone but many people face problem with battery life. I have switched off the backlight and the battery life has increased multiple times. try it, this works.

Recently I have brought PC Serial Data Cable (Rs.1387) for my LG G1600 mobile. The problem is with the connection state - ie. once I click the connect button in PC Sync application, its reporting error like (no response from mobile, timeout, etc.). My friend gave me a idea to press the power button once while connecting with PC - well it connected for the first time. But after that I try to download (ringtones, pictures) again the same problem arises. Then after a long research - I tried by continues press & realease the power button in my mobile whenever I used to communicate with my PC - it worked prefectly. Then I went to LG service center regarding this - even they have this same problem & said they will report this to there head office. Can somebody help me - where the actully bug is hidden ?

hi friends,
this is a cute cell. i really love it. but the only problem it has is its low volume for incoming calls.
and i will be greatfull to you if any one can give me the name of the driver to upload the ringtones and photos from the pc. i have the data cable but no cd. plz help me

I purchased my LG G1600 mobile phone because I required a mobile phone, not a digital camera, PC, MS Entertainment Centre, X-Box, PlayStation, Palm pilot, portable TV/Radio/Coffee Maker/Masseuse/Call-Girl/Boy or means of space transportation. It won't "beam you up, Scotty".
I suggest that others who make a supposedly informed & lucid decision to purchase this model & make of mobile phone, or any other available on the retail market for that matter, do the following: Read the User's Manual.
The only question posed on this site re: LG G1600, not directly covered in the manual is "changing the volume while actually on a call". To do this, when actually on a call either hit (left) options button and select volume then when guage appears on screen you can adjust sound by hitting left or right arrow button. Or just hit the UP/DOWN arrow & when guage appears on screen,select appropriate left or right arrows.
It doesn't required a rocket scientist to effectively operate this or any other mobile phone. Please remember it is only a mobile phone & comparatively an economical model with a good range of features.
May the Force be with You - if it ever is, it won't be via a Mobile Phone. TG

i love this phone.
but the oly problem with it is, its speaker position. i just cannot hear the ring tones even it is in my poket.also lacks composer.but looks and other features at affordable price of 5400 is great.

To increase the phone volume, press the up arrow key while the call is going on.

the phone is nice looking but i have a prob wid a few things. I cant find a blank op logo 4 this phone. I NEED IT :). and also the ring volume on this phone is very very low, i can hardly hear it when it rings. also cant speak in crowded places coz hard 2 hear. can anyone help wid this prob?

i just bought the G1600 3 days ago and i really luv it, but i can't find the voice dial and the ringtones composer. well, do i need any software for that? and can i record my voice to put it on ringtones? like any others phone can do. I was hoping somebody would be able to help me out and give me some more information through my email. thx a lot!!

hey AshwinW, can you post a link for the G1600 usb drivers. I've scoured the net and have found jack all. I really need that driver. I bought the cable but lost the CD straight away. Shows what an cluts I am.

Haven't found a way to set memo as ringtone or to upload one to the PC. Have found a way around downloading "non LG signed" java games to handset so the cable can be used for pics/rintones/java/backup/sms/internet quite successfully!

the phone is no doubt a good one in terms of picture quality and soothing ringtones,but it lacks on the front of low ring tones and low volume.if added some more games and wallpapers it can be more interesting to use.
but still it is worth its value.i m happy with it.

not good phone , it has got problem with 1800 band plz be carefull if any one wants to use the same for 1800 band

this is the best phone i have encountered in terms of performance weight and price
gracy and others this is the way to increase the hearing volume.
while attending a call press options and you get the volume tab set at 3 , increase it to
5[max] your problem will be solved.

Hi Guys,
I have purchased G1600 LG phone. Its good except for few features it lacks.
Is there any way to increase the volume as i couldnt hear anything in a crowded area. Also initially the volume is very low for incoming calls. Is there any way to perfect it. I have voice recording feature, but could it be used as ringtone. The volume of the cell is very low. I would appreciate if anybody could help me out to increase this as soon as possible.

This is the worse phone I have ever seen in terms of battery life. It lasts hardly one and a half day. I needed to renew my old phone because the battery used to went only one day and when I bought lg g1600, I was shocked-as I said the battery lasted approximately 36 hours. what a dissappoinment for lg!well, yet no problem, I hve refunded it got my money back. thanks www.idefixee.com

I think this is a fantastic phone. many features. there is one problem on my phone which is it doesnt vibrate. has this happened to anyone? does anyone know how to repair it?

hi friendz,
g1600 is a very cute cell with all the intersting functions.But it has got couple of flaws......
1.The phone vol is very low and unable to communicate properly in crowded areas.
2.Message tones r very bad .plze mail me if there is any chance to change the message tones rather than those 4 mssge tones.
3.Unable to attend the calls in the sunlight as the screen is not allowing the clear picture or text.
4.is there any chance to change the screensaver rather than those 3.
5.i m unable to send SOME pictures....my mobile is showing that the mssge is being sent but the recepient is not getting the picture....why is this so?
6.are they charging extra money(pre-paid) for texts in different colors in g 1600?
plze mail me if u get rid of any of the problems........
