This phone is in the entry level market and as such, has a price to match.
I have had it for a few months and think that it is fantastic. It has not dropped out on me once as suggested by another person, perhaps that was your network.
I have had no problems with the ringtones. No, there is no ringtone converter, but any midi from the net will do and you can easily transfer it to your phone. I've also put a new pic as the wallpaper.
I have found it absolutely simple to use, read your manual first off, you'll have no problems.
MMS is set up through your network - vodafone users - ring the help desk.

thanks a lot rhonda, that is definitely the best free ringtone place i've ever been to.
they have almost every polyphonic tones conceivable but they all sound cool too.

I've had this phone for a few months now, think it's good value. Found a good sight to get free ringtones by entering a code number. Maybe worth trying (www.free-ringtones.eu.com) I've now have various Robbie Williams tunes and Greenday ringtones.

Does anyone have problems with the screen saver NOT working, what happens is it stays on the wallpaper without the backlight on, Even thought you have screensaver set to on in the phone settings.

ok heres how it goes SO READ CARFULLY... this phone automaticaly uses gprs therefore u dont have 2 activate it but!!!your phone company has 2 be one that supports it or iff it doesnt u can not use gprs (DER)... AND U GOTA GET SOFTWARE to MAKE RINGTONES then upload it 2 ur phone but u have 2 get the cable 2 do that first.. AND IFF U GOT VODAFONE GO 2 UR INTERNET BROWSER TYPE IN A SEARCH ENGINE LIKE GOOGLE.com then do a search 4 ringtones ur lg1600 can only display mobile web pages not normal html as these are 2 big for ur phone 2 handle...

i brought G1600 when i was in Melbourne last month with only A$69 = RM210. but i did not get the USB cable in the Vodaphone pack. does any one have the same problems as me too?

how exactly do you download ringtones onto mobile. I send the sms to the specified site requesting the song and got confirmation sms back but it says on my mobile that the folder is empty.

for all thoses wanting extra java games on the LG1600, try www.midlet.org. Unfortunate the only decent games that are compatible with the fone are the stock standard card games like solitaire, hearts and freecell.

i have seen it at one of the mobile phone shop and it cost RM420. I don't know want to buy or not but i think the price is fair enough.
