Sepfian, 22 Jul 2022Can it be installed with android 11?Yeah, the LineageOS for it got revived by someone and is getting constant updates. You need twrp, but don't use the latest one for flashing. If you don't know how, this could be a good learning experience, or don't try it. With this device, it's slightly more complicated than the usual twrp flash, wipe, install.

So I am going to use LG G3 as my daily drive phone again, as I installed android 11 on it and it's definitely useable with these characteristics. Sounds great!

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2021Anybody here managed to fix the screen flickering issue? My... moreI fixed my LG G3 permanently by doing the following -
              1. Open the phone (see any youtube video) and take out the motherboard.
              2. Very carefully blow a hot hair dryer only directly on top of the CPU for only a minute.
              3. Place a neatly folded aluminium foil on the square indent where the CPU meets the phone body. Also apply thermal paste here (a small drop will do).
              4. Upon reassembly, place a neatly folded paper on top of the camera flex cable connector (the folded paper needs to be the same size as the connector.
              5. Reassemble and use, as before.

TT, 16 Sep 2021You could try and root and install LineageOS 17.1 I do n... moreMy G3 (D855K 2GB RAM / 16GB ROM) has Lineage 18.1 (Android 11) with GAPPS 32bit Pico for Android 11 to enable Google Apps.

It is complicated since the Bootloader is locked however cleaver people found a way to downgrade the bootloader stack to Android 4.4.2 which then allowed to install TWRP which tlthem allowed owners to install at 1st CyanogenMod and now Lineage for several years to basically keep this device alive as it can still go in terms of performance, granted not super quick but still around today mid range pack of devices minus encryption.

The battery on my G3 still can last at least up to 5 hour SoT as I don't use it with SIM card I just leave it in AIRPLANE mode and use WiFi so I can use it as a spare device while my main one is charging.

As long as developers keep updating Firmware it I will keep in updating it.

pro tip: if your g3 died and you still want to use it, you can get the motherboard of g3 for around $20.

                                        - Removable Battery
                                        - Good Music (192khz or whatever they call it)
                                        - Perfect screen to body ratio
                                        - Some space so I can hold it without using touchscreen
                                        - No biometric stuff
                                        - It took photos when you clicked
                                        - It did get hot at one specific place, unlike those metal bricks that heat up everywhere
                                        - No exposed volume buttons, so it doesn't get really loud when you grab it
