bigger number of battery capacity is not a deal!
smaller battery capacity from lg can beats a bigger battery capacity from sony , htc and other manufacturer.

GsmArena do their battery test at around 60-75% of brightness...
in GsmArena G2 ( kitkat) scored 9HOURS in videoplayback @70% of brightness
so G3 WILL DO EVEN BETTER THAN G2 IF WE REDUCE THE BRIGHTNESS FROM 100% TO 70%.
SO ITS IMPRESSIVE INDEED!

If you look at pictures of HTC M8 teardown, you would see that in reality the speakers are much smaller than the speaker grilles. From the pictures i saw of G3 without back cover, speaker on G3 is even bigger than on M8.

simple solution for improwing battery life in some situations :
1440/2 : 2560/2 = 720x1280 resolution
group 4 native pixels (1440x2560) = 1pixel(720x1280) resolution
