I got two fully working LG G4s for only $25, they make me feel nostalgic for when my main phone was a G4. I'll baby these as much as possible to try and prevent bootlooping

I had this phone working fine for two years and then the famous bootloop problem happened, reboots and at the showing of the logo it reboots again. It was though repaired by LG service at no extra cost and has been working fine since then,

I mine when it was release. As soon as it turned one year old of use, it won't open again. Every time i turned it on, it always stuck in it's logo and that's it. So, i hereby conclude that this phones life span is exactly one year old.

The LG G4 is a great phone. It did have that bad solder on the SOC but, customer service was immaculate. I called, they said send It in and 2 weeks later got it back with no service fee. The new logic board and SOC are fine. I stressed tested for a month strait and it still holds up. Anyone that brings up BT's eats bootloops for breakfast. This was 2years ago and way after the warranty period, and they still fixed it. As long as the screen isnt cracked they'll fix it for free. So there should be no crying about bootloops. They fixed my V10 too. I don't get why most people rag on LG's phones. Especially the G4. It still takes better pics than most phones and cameras today. The 16MP sensor is comparable to the Galaxy Note 3,4 and 5. I tested this, forget DxNoMark. They can't even run audio tests correctly. Android OS is made to be customized. Out of the box isn't how its done. We all know LG has the market cornered on the audio front. And they don't even make smartphones anymore. Lucky me a very close friend of mine got me both the LG V70 and Rollable. Though, the Rollable is a 3rd iteration, it still works as shown in the leaks. Of course i couldn't put these on show because they don't exist and would out my partner. They both run flawless on T-Mobile's/Sprint's network. I locked it to 4GLTE using BANDs 2,4,12,41,66 and 71. Maxing out at 50Mbps down and that 5miles away from the closest tower. Remember, the fastest 4GLTE is faster and more solid than the slowest and mid sub6 5G. I'll miss LG's phones but i have all the greats like the V40, V50, V60 and V70 to hold me down. Till i find another one of LG custom engineering samples. As far as the LG G4 goes, you just have to mod it. Or leave it on Android 6. I have the T-Mobile H811 variant ROOTed and Unlocked running Android 9 (custom made by me) has all the features working, and the new 4000mAh battery last as it should. No Bloatware or hidden stuff running or sending.

Using the LG G4 H818p since about April 2016. This is the international dualSIM version, using it together with an 128GB SD card. Me too i am on my 4th battery and i kind of switch the elderly barreries around every few months. And me too i also tested the Samsung XCover Pro and sent it back. Too many software problems, bad camera, too much lag and overall bad usability.
As i am looking slowly for a replacement, i begin to love it ever more, the old LG G4 H818p and i simply don't UNDERSTAND WHYnanufacturers do not seem to have the need to produce something in similar quality!
So what is so good about this old phone?
                  1) The camera is still awesome and better than many cameras in today's phones. The pro mode does a good job and although it is not available in video mode (it can be tweeked with the camera app of the LG v10) the video mode is really also doing a decent job. in the photo pro mode, i relatively often used "long exposures" to make night sceents lit up. this often is not even possible with todays socalled "flag ships".
The AUDIO QUALITY and MECHANICAL QUALITY of the 3,5mm jack is great and i use it quite a bit.
Then there are all stateofthe art sensors and interfaces, including
IR INFRARED DIOD (ir blaster) which is still useful today! NFC works fine, even the barometer sensor which is often mising today.
IMPORTANT : the USB Port also supports OTG USB and HDMI ... any USB-to-HDMI cable type adapter-thing works; the phone has some implementatin of MHL that makes it easy toconnect to any old television set with any HDMI. A feature which is missing on most phones today!!
Then of course there is the REPLACEABLE BATTERY of which i do make much use.
Software - firmware QUALITY IS GOOD.
Yes i know it is Android 6.00 and patch-level of 10 / 2016 but so what? Google still updates its PlayServices for API-Level 23 (Android 6) and you can also always download the latest play services from sites like ApK-mirror.
the RIL / radio module is good - the phone e.g. works in my basement, where the xcover pro simply failed. auto-switching between 3G/4G works smoothly. there are hardly any bugs in the WIFI module and BT module. Most things SIMPLY WORK and they work for years and years.
Battery life overall is OK; it always gets me through a day.
Also the quality of the MONO LOUDSPEAKER at the back is better than many would expect. So if any manufacturer listens here, please make a wearthy update to the LG G4. It is so awesome to see .... if developers put a bit of work into a device, it really lasts long time. Shame that LG never produced a thing of similar quality, not even talking about the price. Anyhow, now it is almost april 2021 and the G4 still is my daily driver.

Still sporting it till this day (Feb 2021). I'm on the 4th battery(~1.5 year/battery). I heard about solder melting problems and this is why I've not been using a cover without issues. The screen is basically uncrackable as most of the kinetic energy is transferred into the flying battery upon contact with the floor and not into it. Battery life is so so.. Still looking for a proper replacement but I fear it is harder and harder to find as time passes by. It has issues with the radio module resetting itself wihile using wifi 2.4 + bt for longer periods of time but it's not disruptive to its main task of youtube streaming. As I am reading reviews about Samsung XCover Pro it seems that it has software issues (random resets) and such, I'll just order one more battery and hope something good comes up.

Great phone. I've had it for 5 years now and am just now looking for a replacement. The only con that I've come across is that the battery life is crap. It will last a day of light/moderate use. As a phone to get in 2020... probably not the greatest choice, but you can pick them up for $80 or less, so if you're looking for a good phone that has a ton of features and can live with the crap battery life then I say go for it.

All I can say is I've had my LG G4 for 4+ years (but now finally about to replace) and when I bought it it could match the very best of phone cameras for image quality, most especially in poor light. It was much cheaper than those phones also. It still does an impressive job IMHO ;-)
