Best Android phone I have ever owned. Switching from a nexus 5x. Big improvement in call quality, screen, battery life and camera Having the volume and power switch on the back is great and intuitive. I have owned several of the flagship phones and this $130 phone is the best for me. No signs of overheating or boot-loop.

AnonD-365805, 02 Mar 2017Hello guys I was a samsung fan in past Recently bought G4... moreCross your fingers and try to not overheat your phone, that's the main cause of the bootloop, the lead free solder contacts will melt for the heat and that will loosen some contacts between components.

lg is not giving love to the G4. and that's because bootloop but that's is not customers fault this is fault of your QA department atleast you should upgrade the device so people who still has a working phone can upgrade atleast for 1-6 months before bootloop

My wife G4 is now 1.5 years old, still working like a charm. My G4 is 7 months old and also working without problems. Really good phone if you ask me. Maybe soon we gonna change to G6's ?

But yeah, i know many users has problems with the bootloop issue and heating with the G4. Maybe me and my wife are just lucky :)

i bought LG G4 in December, 2016. but alas vary bad experience. bootloop issue, xtremely heat up issue, and now suddenly hanged with software disappeared. the mechanic demands gurantee that phone can be dead if software re-installed. My humble suggestion to LG Company is that plz concentrate on washing machines and fridges only, if u cant produce some good smart phones.

bad news guys .. lg just killed the G4 ... they left the device only running android 6.0 . no intention updating it to nougat .. Italian web pages have news about it ... they are rolling out really slow the update for g5 so they can skip the G4... so bad that they even preferred to update a stylus 2 rather than a flagship but ... for me it is simply that they don't want room for comparations it is not a fast phone but has an excellent camera and featurs that they dropped during generations battery G6 and screen size G5 5.3 vs 5.5 on g4 anyway .... ux 4.0 looks ok for me but I eman the nougat is future proof and has a boost in performance regarding the vulkan api . they are s...kers

                              Bought mine July 2015.
Stuck on boot-up on 3 occasions. Service centre changed the motherboard each time with total data loss. Last replacement was in Feb 2017.
Tech support don't even know the cause of failure. Simply replacing motherboard without finding cause of failure will not fix the real fault.
The device also frequently overheats while in use.
My next phones shall never ever be another LG.

Mir, 25 Feb 2017hi folks , OMG no i ordered is 1 day ago , its on its way ,... moreSorry but 245 CAD seems really low for a G4, it's not brand new, is it? I'm guessing used or refurbished. Or it's already bootlooped, been repaired under warrenty and now the owner is selling it.

It's 2017 the only phones from 2015 I'd buy today would be the Samsung Note 5 or Edge+. Everything else would be a no go.

I have had bad experiences with the LG G4 since I purchased it last November 2015: it heats up quite frequently, and it was too warm that it is uncomfortable to use. Had it checked within two months with the service center and they replaced the motherboard, but still same issue. By March 2016, they couldn't figure out why it was heating up and had to replace the unit: still heats up occasionally but I bought a casing instead so that I wouldn't have to deal with the heat on my hands (I am not sure if that was really a good decision though). Last Friday, 24 February 2017, my phone just conked out. It cannot be charged as well, and no indication of life whatsoever. I went to the service center and they said they have to replace the motherboard (same issue again!) and what really frustrates me is that all files cannot be retrieved anymore. I know that is also a fault on my part: I haven't backed up my holiday photos yet in the cloud nor in an external drive. My cousin in NZ has these same issues with the same unit (she also bought last 2015). I can say we are both traumatized with the issues of LG G4 and are not keen on buying from the same brand again.

All the phones from 2016 should be ok. My girlfriend has bought one from October 2016 and she is very very satisfied with LG G4.

To check the manufacturing date, just look at the first 3 digits of the serial number (year/month in YMM format. For example 603; 6 = 2016; 03 = March).
