I got a G4 eight months ago. No bootloop (so far...), no overheating. But the stock camera app keeps crashing at least 3-4 times per week. I have to reboot and it works again for some time. I have no other camera apps, no root, only original LG updates (european v20G marshmallow). Tried hard reset, tried restoring firmware via lg bridge, tried not installing any app, nothing works. This damn camera keeps crashing here and there, it's very annoying. Any clues?

how come I got the LG G4 and it wont update to marshmallow it is still running lollipop, I called LG as this is a factory unlocked phone and they said that they cant help as it is an unlocked phone ????
I also have the G3 and that one is running marshmamallow ....
not too happy about that, they wont tell you where to get the KDZ file to manually update your phone either ... terrible customer service

Bootloop issue and don't get me wrong im not saying a soft issue like messing arround with root or roms no...it's just will come the day and ur phone die just like that (mother board ) and your phone will be from the past.
such a bad feeling u can't use ur brand new phone with even no scratch on it while your old phone like from 2010 still working like a charm.
and they call it a flagship ....shame on you LG

The bootloop is a small issue, no problems with mine. I've had the LG G4 for over a year and not encountered a single fault. I suppose i'm just lucky. Remember - the people who do encounter a fault will be more vocal then those who haven't. Like me, I don't feel the need to rant because I've had a positive experience with this device. If you need an upgrade from the LG G2 then go for it. The Micro SD card slot and removable back is very convenient. The performance boost in graphical power makes this a great device for games and movies. It's not bad at taking photos either.

After 4 days of my one year warranty expired my G4 also got the bootloop problem, I talked to LG, they said to send it in, they paid for the shipping and they changed the motherboard at no cost to me at all. Process took one week and then I got my G4 back, it was like a brand new phone. I had most things backed up anyways, so didn't lose much.

I use my LG G4 for exactly 4 days after the 1-year warranty expired, then I got this bootloop problem. Despite this is a known design fault, the service centre refused to replace the motherboard for me free of charge. It charge a rip-off price of HK$2000. I will never buy any LG product again in my life.

I purchased g4 last Decmeber 2015 , a gift for my wife, then last month the phone was shut down while it charging and we try to turn it on. No response only logo appears. BOOT LOOP!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I am very fun of LG unit. I am using LG G3 right now. I am very disappoint for the lg g4.

I encountered same problem with my lg g4 after 1 and half year of using this phone. I goencountered totroops their service center, they re-soldered some parts on motherboard and it back to work again. After 12 hours of using, goodluck encountered bootloop again and again ....They said that if bootloop happen again they going to replace motherboard because it was the main issue and it cost a lot. I decided to buy another brand of cellphone than to replace motherboard of my lg g4 coz after a year maybe I encounter again that bootloop issue....

Almost every LG phone had a set of problems that are like many of the unsolved mysteries. But i am sure this is nothing but a business strategy to force customers to ditch their old non working handsets and buy latest device....
LG G2- touchscreen non responsive....
G3 - boot loop and touchscreen flickering, black screen, screen non responsive.
G4 - boot loop, Screen Flickering dead after warranty.....
G5 - dead after warranty, touch screen non responsive... overheating....
V10 - Bootloop.... etc... I can keep on going.... no end....
