Stop comparing and enjoy the phones features...yes its not perfect but i can tell you this i like it way more than my samsung note 5.
The operating system kills touch wiz and hate how they fill the phone with garbage that u cant even get rid of..note 5 comes with 4 gig ram but in reality you only have about 1 gig for your apps...

G5 user, 25 May 2016likewise, just try to compare lg g5 and s7 in 0 level brigh... moreBy the way look at these numbers from GSMarena's comparison of G5 and S7:

"The Galaxy S family is known for Super AMOLED displays and the S7 has the latest and greatest incarnation. It's very bright (especially in Auto mode) and flawless even under direct sunlight. The minimum brightness is an impressive 2.1 nits, so checking the phone in the middle of the night is no longer painful."

        and here about G5

"Sunlight legibility is better than most LCDs. LG's Assertive Display adjusts pixel colors in real time to improve readability in direct sunlight (it selectively brightens dark areas of the image). In the opposite scenario - pitch black - the screen can go as low as 3.6 nits."

According to this Galaxy S7 can be dimmer at minimum brightness. It will also use less power being SAMOLED vs LG's IPS LCD.

Again, don't take me wrong here, I really like the phone but the screen? Give me a break.

Excellent phone I have ever used. Battery is decent, my phone lasted from 100% to 15% 27.5 hours with 7.5 hours talking, 3.5 hours screen on, normal wifi usage and playstore downloads, little camera usage, messaging and surfing various applications settings of the phone.

Some features I miss from Samsung is like calling and smart dial accuracy and calling dialing interface like no direct 2 sim dial option we have to choose in sim shortcut. And dispaly brightness is low but usable in sunlight. But in low mode we have better control in dark like in bed at night usage we can better control lowing the bright than samsung was not better in lowering in dark.
No dedicated slot for micro sd is downside but we have option to use that is little better. I liked camera, infrared and removable battery over s7.
I'll share more as experience as usage.

Try to open the same apps, browse the same sites and compare the screens - you will see what garbage is LG's LCD screen. It's dark, dim and there are no whites at all, instead of white you'll get nicely dimmed greys. LG's flop this year is even bigger than with G4's faulty logic boards.

I have had the LG G3, and the G4. Before that i was an HTC only boy. I got the lg G5 on pre-order from sprint and received it on March 31st. I do not like that they made the screen smaller, even though its only a little bit i wish they would have kept the screen at 5.5 but i think the reason behind this is because of the new V line from LG. Basically i think the v10 is the lg G4 pro version. My carrier is the only one that does not carry the V10 because i probably would have gotten that phone instead but that phone does have a crappy processor and video GPU just like the G4 does but they did that because the snapdragon 810 had so many problems so they went with the 808. Second, i don't get why people are saying the screen is so dim, if you look at the brightness specifications, its twice as bright as the G4 and G3. Now what i will say is the "auto" function on the screen brightness doesn't work exactly right and sometimes i will go into the settings and turn the auto function off and back on and that fixes it all the time. i have no problem seeing the screen at all in full sunlight. i absolutely love that they kept the removeable battery, so i also don't understand why people were bitching about the smaller battery, they even had a promo that if u bought the phone at a certain time they would send u a free battery and charging cradle. i used that promo and got my extra battery and cradle and love it. I also purchased an extra non-oem battery from amazon for $16 bucks. So now i have three batteries, if it gets close to dying, i simply turn the phone off and swap the batteries. I NEVER charge the phone (but i did when i first got it and it charges very fast, about an hour and 15 minutes gets a full charge) Now more about the display, i prefer IPS displays over samsungs amolded. First, the amolded displays look fake and over saturated. also the pixels die out over time. plus the samsungs are usually quite a bit more then the LG devices. Now that wasn't quite the case this time. i believe it was still about 100$ cheaper then the regular s7 and 200$ cheaper then the s7 edge. the g4 was alot cheaper then the samsung s6 and s6 edge but since they have the same processors and ram and gpu i guess they decided to charge more. Changing the batteries was a pain at first with the weird design but after a few weeks i can change them within a few seconds. i've read many professional reviews of the g5 and they all say it is by far the fastest as any of the new devices this year. it has also won awards for the best camera out of all of them too. i think the main 16mp shooter is the same from the lg g4. there is an extra 8mp wide angle lens but i am not much on taking pictures, i played with it a little and it seems ok. I think it also has the same 8mp front shooter as the g4. The speaker is on the bottom now instead of the back and it seems pretty good, a little better then on the g4's back facing speaker. overall i really like this phone. it is extremely fast and does all the things all the other phones do. i really like that it still comes with a removeable battery as i hate charging my phone even if it does charge really fast. i had six extra batteries for my g4. the call quality and reception are great (i am on sprint which is the worst of all the US carriers but it works great, i am usually home on my wifi anyway but i don't use wifi for calling. I did switch from Tmobile and i got much better service with them but sprint isn't that bad and they are working on improving. I don't use the second screen option because i have a smart watch but from what i read from reviews its the best out of any phone but still sucks. I give this phone an 8 out of 10. Some places even have this phone buy one get one free or buy one get one 50% off. just shop around.
