It's a damn good phone until you try to use it under a heavy sunlight, the auto brightness sensor is a big tragedy.
Another issue is the camera: you need to adjust it using the manual mode in order to get a decent pic, most people just want to pick up the phone and shoot photos without worry about too many settings.

john1102, 26 Jan 2017has anyone got a fix or solution for the screen burn/image ... moreSo like many of you, I have discovered that the G5 screen suffers from image retention/screen burn/ghosting. I found this fix from the LG G5 xda forums thread on this issue. You simply download an app called "Blue Light Filter" from Simple Design Ltd. and set the intensity to 5% with a color temperature of 1800K. You will notice pretty much no difference in the screen and there is no impact on your battery life. copy and paste

It will not pass, as the phone heats up it will retain image (top part of the screen in mine). If you still have a warranty, I would suggest you to use it.

Hi anyone who can help with that image retention issue with this phone? Have installed and tried a bunch of apps already but works for a day or 2 only and then issue comes up again. Very dissapointed as I only had the phone for 2 friggin months. :(
Other than the image retention, phone is excellent though. Hesitant to send it away for warranty repair as I do not have a spare phone to use.

LG G5 Great performance but after 3 months crack in internal glass layer has broken up display and touch no longer works. LG has free replacement program for phones bought retail in Australia. Suggests they accept does not meet Australian consumer law, not "fit for purpose" They pushed too far to make it thin. Flexure if in pocket is fatal. Had plastic back and rear protector. Suggest a full wrap around cover is mandatory.
Anyone else had this problem?

great specs, but VERY VERY weak battery !
G5 - Battery life Endurance rating 60h
LG G2 - Battery life Endurance rating 81h , which I got it and i had to charge it 1 or 2 times per day, no video and games , only Inet browsing, chats, IG.
So i could imagine how poor would be G5 battery for me.
Why there are still great phones with weak batteries less than 3500mAh, i don't know..

I've pretty much had it all when it comes to cell phones. The LG G5 has been one of my absolute favorites so far!
The battery lasts me all day, its quick, never freezes, takes good quality pictures, and durable(I have broken many phones).
You can buy replacement batteries for it, and camera add ons.
I live in a low service area and it picks up service quite well.
Everyone on here complaining about certain issues could all be solved if you all took proper care of your devices. Of coarse there is the exception of getting an lemon phone.
Shutting it off once a day, clearing apps, clearing cache in phone. Not downloading second party apps.
Not charging your phones overnight..it exhausts your battery.
Buying a decent , not cheap, case to protect your expensive device.
Just like anything you own...you have to take care of it for it to last. People get so use to having their phones on them, it's like second nature to throw it in your purse, back pocket, coat pocket.
Also, I do not update any of my phones if I can help it and they have all worked flawlessly
software wise. When I was forced into an update, I noticed small things weren't working as great as they once were. Battery life decreased, phone starting lagging. etc
The only con is the protruded camera. Not sure why phones are going in this direction but they are much easier to smash.
This is my opinion. Of coarse others might disagree. It is what it is.

Agreed with the above.
Other than the body... I feel it's the best phone of 2016.
But coming from a Note 5 I did notice the lack of premium feel.

I hate the updated pull down bar. No more sliding feature on the top row of shortcuts and no settings shortcut unless you pull down twice. Very inconvenient. The pull down bar was perfect the way it was. If anything I would have added a black theme option instead of a colour inverter. That way the pull down bar can be black.

One of the most underrated and excellent phone of this times.....I am using this phone since 6 months now and I am the happiest user ever, get a extra battery and cradle and ur good to go for the nxt 1 to 2 yrs.
Best Camera
IR Blaster
Amazing Screen
Removable battery which is a rare thing
Modules like Camplus, HiFi Plus( Imported it)
Amazingly optimized phone, ZERO heating issues
Fastest Charging...faster than Oneplus 3T compared it with friend
ALWAYS ON Display is damn useful
Cons: Battery could be a problem for some...gives me 4hrs SOT on moderate usage
Cant really think of any other cons...
NOW WAITING EAGERLY FOR NOUGAT UPDATE 7.0.1, THE WHOLE WORLD HAS IT WHEN WILL IT COME TO INDIA???
