I have been using LG G5 for 4 mothes with Marshmallow. It was awesome on power and performance, but since I have updated to android 7.0 (november version)it's draining my battery.

I have tried all these solutions:
              1. Reset all app preferences
              2. Clear app cache
              3. Reboot a few times

The battery analysis consistently says it's the Android OS eating away the battery.

I have observed that if I am on good wifi, with decent mobile network, the phone behaves. As soon as I go into a room with even slight poor network coverage, the phone goes hot in my pocket. At work, on a mobile network, unless I am next to a window with 5 bars of 4G, the phone goes hot and battery depletes.

I have never seen such a battery drain or phone getting hot before, no circumstances have changes except the Android 7 update. My phone is with Wind Italy.

              My questions:

If I factory reset through the hard reset option, can I revert to Marshmallow, which I was happy with?

              Many thanks.

AnonD-622668, 25 Dec 2016Does your g5 have aany problem or the biotloop issue? No bootloop issue yet & nither there are any other issues yet on my lg g5..i got use to a bit smaller screen and a bit lighter smartphone now..as was using bigger and heavier note5 before.black leveles on lg g5 is also one of the best on ips screen so i dont miss the deep blacks of note5 screen that much...the only thing i wud complaint abt lg g5 is a hybrid sim slot on lg g5 as there is no dedicated memory card slot for which i had to hack the sim trey to use all 3 cards together ..the hack itself is complicated , risky and cud damange the cards or the phone...may be lg will provide dedicated memory card slot in lg g6 like they have it on lg v20. and another small complaint abt the lg g5 is that there is still no root method available for the international version yet.

Since nougat 7.0 update on my lg g5 it does not want to switch on the data or switch off data when i finally get it on after many attempts of struggling. I see shadows of old images on the screen like screen burn in. And the notification drop down was better before and much easier. Its more complicated now.

AnonD-624363, 24 Dec 2016Hi g5 users kindly provide me proper review this set.i have... moreI own both and I admit I definitely reckon my G5 is far better than my G4 with battery life and I would say the cameras are about the same with both phones although you do have the wide angle camera on the G5 which is cool and as for the displays they look about the same really,no noticeable difference.

You are definitely better off with the G5 but it is a little smaller than the G4 which might bother you if you is use to the size of the G4.

however if you wanna save some money and also want to buy a battery and a charging cradle which is available for cheap price now a days (one stupid here is not even aware that you cud also buy the easily available battery along wiith a charging cradle for g5 LOL) then get the lg g5 ,if sd card is a must for you in note5 no sd card option.feel free to ask any questions here ...note4 days are almost over now its chipset and gpu and camera is almost nothing compaired to lg g5 stuff..btw battery backup and standby time is also awesome and better than note5 on lg g5 inspite of having high performance chipsets... best of luck...for ur purchase.

G5 has less battery capacity). Please save a bit more money and better buy Samsung S7 edge.

Do not blindly believe that all Samsung phones are unsafe to use after Note 7 incident.

My LG G3 (running with stock ROM) has become IMEI null because of choosing 'restore upgrade errors' in the LG PC suite. Now happy with my beloved Samsung Note 4 N910G.

                                  Proof (endurance rating) :
                                  LG G3 : Just 63 hours
                                  LG G4 : Just 54 hours
LG G5 : Just 60 hours (how come?. It is powerful than G4, less battery capacity. Then how?)
Samsung Note 4 (almost similar to LG G4) with stylus : 87 hours (OS 4.4.2) / 90 hours (OS 5.0.1).

So Samsung rocks in durability and battery standby time.

One is a more basic Smartphone with a good camera & expandable memory (G5) where as the other is a Phablet that is more sold on its S-Pen feature & has a few tricks up its sleeve (Note5).

If you want a smaller phone with a decent screen & camera then go with the G5, if you want a bigger screen, the S-Pen & a better look then go with the Note 5.
