Bukell, 08 May 2018Why there is no ir blaster and oled? I'm really confused...
      LED shows pictures
      LCD shows pictures too
You guys ignore HDR10, 1000nits, 564ppi density, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, Dolby Vision, Always-on display, etc. and you ask for OLED... :/
There's not much difference between Samsung and LG screens... well, today LG's flagship is brighter...
Don't judge a book by its cover...

I like that you say that G7 has a poor battery....it appears you've tested it already. Why don't you give us your full review and your general opinion concerning this device compared to others...especially P20 pro which is best suited for you...but make sure you don't go scuba diving as that device is only IP67....

Bukell, 08 May 2018Why there is no ir blaster and oled? look elsewhere....this question it's been answered way too many times on several LG devices already..

Of all the smartphones out now.... I think the G7 is the best all around great performing best value device.... and I mean this wholeheartedly. Here comes the 'back stab'..... would I buy it ? Highly doubtful. But I wouldn't buy any other manufacturer's phone either. At least, not at this time. (*mumbles* - Please don't screw up the V40 like you did the V30 !) LG, you're the best ! ! Just being honest.

I've been waiting for this phone for a long time. My idea has changed because of LCD display and poor battery, by the way no ir port. I think p20 pro is better for me. Or maybe i wait more time for v40

AnonD-757819, 08 May 2018Well I am so amazed by this phone and the fact that the cam... moreThe display is an LCD, so no burning in issues whatsoever (is that what is meant by ghosting?) and beside that IPS LCD has come a long way the last few years, for normal use you wont notice a difference between an Amoled or this LCD.. only when you put them side by side you will see subtle differences, like amoled can be more saturated and the blacks are really black.. And that bootloop issue has been resolved.

So I would not worry too much about it, it will be just fine, like with every other major manufcturer.

People complain about customer service of LG, but they are asking the wrong desk, they should ask the store where they bought the device. I have my Nexus 5x (also built by LG) brought back to the (online web)store for warranty repairs two times now (indeed once for the notorious bootloop and a second time for a broken battery).. back in within 2 weeks, no questions asked, nothing to be paid. If you did not buy from a store, just go to one where they sell LG products and they are (should be) happy to help you.

Well I am so amazed by this phone and the fact that the camera is a wide angle and not AGAIN a portrait or a bw make me want it even more but after hearing all these about bootlooping and ghostscreens and bad customer service and that LG refuses to take responsibility for their defective devices I don't know ... Samsung seems like a safe choice but no dual camera set up on the S8 (that I was thinking to buy ) and the software remains the same like from android 6.0 to 8.0 and Huawei seems like a good idea but the selfie cameras are like you are a cartoon so that's what makes me a little more sceptical ... any advices ?

LG chose to offer an HDR display as their unique selling point. OLED displays can't yet get bright enough for HDR certification, though they offer high dynamic range at the other end with their blacker blacks.

High quality audio continues to be an LG strength. Not only does the G7 have a headphone jack, it has a 24/192 capable DAC. And the software features DTS-X support, though it's only useful through headphones; surprisingly, it only has one speaker so it can't even deliver stereo that way.

T-Mobile customers will be happy to know that the G7 supports Band 71. LG's V30 was the first Band 71-capable phone; others include the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active and Galaxy S9, and LG's brand new K30 budget model. More Band 71 phones are likely to appear this year, but those are the only ones announced so far.
