OK, I really really like LG phones. This is my third one, after a couple years with a G3, and a few years with a G5.
My only real complaint is the "rounded edges" and the glass back. These "features" BEG, SCREAM, COMPLAIN, and WHINE when they haven't gotten cracked and spidered by trivial abuses.
FROM experience:
The G3 was plastic, the G5 was magnesium. Both of them, after 2+ and 3+ years of use had teeeensy cracks in both top corners. NEVER EVER USED A CASE.
3 MONTHS of the #$%#$^ G8 glass crap has spidercracks all across the back, a largish chip out of the top right corner, and significant cracks along the top edge. One of the cracks runs right across one of the camera lenses. >:-/
Trust me, if you get a G8, you WILL NEED A CASE.
$%Y^#$%&$@ Whatever PoS jackwad sold the notion of a GLASS outer case needs to be lined up against a wall and SHOT. "Oh, but it loooooks sooooo sleeeek and stylish!!"
Yeah, up until you put the #$%^#$^$#^ BIGASS CASE onto it -- a case that a metal or plastic back DON'T need -- at which point YOU CAN'T SEE THE $%#$%#$ "sleek" GLASS >:-/
So it's useless that it be glass.
Still sticking with the LG because it's one of the few that still use micro SD chips, but this is the most disappointing "improvement" of a phone I have ever had.

picked up T-mobile version last month,it was update from pixel 3xl
size of this phone is perfect for me,easy to use and sits in hand very well.
battery life is amazing.1 or 1.5 days without no charger, about 6-7 hours SOT.
runs without any freezes and lags.earpiece sound is normal,its kinda low when you are talking in street,but u can hear so its acceptable. i like this phone too much, i would reccomend.
picture quality is vey good but in low exposure its kinda slow

Camera will never open if there is anything wrong with the camera hardware.
I got my G5 two camera replacement spare parts. One of it is broken. Camera app stucked when I installed that broken camera on. But everything works fine if the good one is installed.
Definitely a rare problem.

Great for gaming. and generally a good phone. Bought 2 of them and paid good prices for both, $150. It's generally an underrated phone HOWEVER the glass is fragile, both phones front and back got cracked from a single fall of the bed. They are in protective cases now. You 100% need a case for this phone. It way more sensitive than iphone glass. The purpose of getting the phones was for mobile gaming. I like to play shooters with my husband and it is a great phone for gaming. I use an iphone as my main lifeline in everyday life, but I like android phones better for extra curricular hobbies. The camera app on both phones pretty much sucks. One phone the camera app wont even open, and on the other phone the camera app does open but its super slow and has a hard time focusing. I did notice that complaint also in other people reviews before I bought the phone. Camera failure is a common bug with this phone. If you don't care about camera, and you get a protective case for it then its really an awesome phone at a wicked awesome price.

WTF is wrong with this crap? It's GLASS. I don't care what adjectives you put onto it, it's STILL GLASS. Brittle as f*** and cracks when you drop it on a sofa.
I've had a G3 and a G5, the former for about 3y and the latter for about 5y... neither one ever had any protective cases on them. Almost no cracks of any kind after YEARS of usage. The G5, after five years of usage, has one teensy crack -- not a chip -- in the upper right corner. That's IT.
Q.E.D -- I handle my phones quite carefully and well.
My G8 is now about 4 months old, probably less. It's got a spiderweb all over the back side, a giant chip out of the top right that has a major crack going all across the top front.
"Oh, you just need a protective case"???
**W** **T** **F** is the point of a "smooth, sleek glass case", if you have to immediately surround the flinking thing with some FAT-ASS protector?
SMMFH, this glass crap is just an excuse to shorten the lifespan of phones.
Bring back the plastic and aluminum, it was what was needed all along.
SO: If you buy one, make sure you get a serious protective case to cover it. It'll need it.
