Hi All
i have the G8X purchased a few months ago and great phone , now i am worried about the service & support from LG in India.

So what happens regd. service after July 2021 for the phones sold in the current and last quarter and their old phones like v30 , v30 plus , G7 etc ? if anyone has the info please

    You're absolutely right. I kept the 3 dots upward and the USB storage and all worked!

    And I agree with you about LG Wing.
    While Dual Screen is a super practical concept which takes multitasking few levels up, a twistable screen is something I didn't even understand the use of... and huge weight and dimensions for no real benefit.
    I still wonder what was their objective before designing it... make something cool, make a sort of multitasker, make a landscape concept, make a typing friendly phone (in the era of swipe), what was it?
    I read its review, couldn't get the big point behind so much sacrifice (battery life, loudspeaker, size, weight, etc.). No doubt though, rest hardware is good.

    Companies like Apple and Samsung don't even try such concepts, although LG at their budget did so, so I appreciate it but they could've saved money for something better.
    LG Wing was something I couldn't see the utility of. Its like a truck with no storage space, this odd.

One can buy the phone as a one of design which other manufacturers will dare never try. To me in last 5 years the only innovative idea from LG that was practical was the Dual Screen case.

        Just make sure the magnetic connector supplied with case has the charging logo/ three dots facing upwards when connected. Also update the USB drivers of you PC which may resolve the issue. I faced same issue previously.

          LG G8X comes with Snapdragon 855 SoC having integrated 4G modem. LG V50S additionally has the Snapdragon X50 5G modem chip, so supports 5G as well.

          Apart from that V50S has 2 GB more RAM. That's it.

          So yeah... gaming wise V50S is a better option.. but the phone also comes at a premium over G8X.

            For gaming overall, V50s will be slightly better due to 8GB RAM as opposed to 6GB RAM in G8x. Although, G8x is not bad, I own it and it runs everything well.

            Also, due to V50s being a 5G phone, you're likely to get better speeds and latency while you're online gaming.. (if you're on the supported network)

              I'm not able to achieve USB wired connectivity in this Dual Screen mode. I can just charge my phone, while it appears as "Unknown device installed" on my Windows 7 PC.
              Can anyone help me?
              Or maybe just check, if dual screen (running in single screen mode) disables the USB connectivity/ tethering?

                    In my G8x, I can easily adjust volume of the app/ game I'm running.
                    Please try to check what all apps are running in the background like call recorder apps, etc. Also, are you updated to Android 10 official update?

But personally, I don't have much interest in it as I'm more into devices with strong media, music and camera specially. So, its clearly not for me.
                      But as it is, I can't deny its one really beautiful design innovation by LG, and the current pricing makes it a great choice for those who want a stand out, reliable device for a good price..

                        What is your take on LG Wing currently selling for INR 30K on Flipkart? Tempted or just pass on?

                          I bought an unlock LG G8X ThinQ from AT&T. 4G-wise works great in Romania (Romanian carrier network operator), but I cannot turn on the WiFi-Calling option - the setting button is untapable (cannot be turned on). I spoke with the operator. He did everything from his part to try to help me. I sent an e-mail to AT&T, they were unable to help me.
                          Does anyone know how to enable the setting button for WiFi-Calling ?
                          If not, the Factory Reset option will reset the phone to LG's Factory Settings or to AT&T's version of Factory Settings ?

                              My reasoning about the manager was based on the fact that I couldn't get one decent retailer in my city to sell me an LG phone, despite my best efforts. Even the official stores were just not interested in selling phones. I sensed an attitude problem in them.
                              Anyhow, I now suppose V60 will never be launched in India, or will it?

                              Reg. SG, I normally just use the phone only, but since you mentioned, I tried putting the dual screen on and everything is ok. The phone fits in without any issue so you can go ahead if you're considering it...
                              One demerit could be that it feels a bit small (RN8 is 6.3 inch as opposed to 6.4 in G8x). It covers the display lit up area and that's it. That's certainly ok by me though.

                                reason why LG shut down its mobile division is cos they weren't consistent in design and did not wait to give their new designs a chance. their product line/philosophy was more along the lines of 'lets do it this way in this edition' sorta thing. think lg g5 with its modular stuff. did it continue in lg g6? no. why not start a separate modular phone series? open up the thing for third-party manufacturers who can build mods for the g5 with lg's certification? why bring a modular series in a general flagship product in the first place? also a separate dual screen series could've been present but they had to mix things up here and there illogically. they never gave the market time/confidence to build something that catered to their offering.

                                      1) Less than 50 ohms will provide 0.4 Vrms max.
                                      2) Equal or more than 50 ohms will provide 2 Vrms max
                                      3) Infinite load (Line-out/Aux) mode will give 1 Vrms.

                                        Babu786, 30 May 2021Has anyone tried using the G8X - quad dac with audio techic... moreLG G8X, if I remember correctly can handle any headphones having impedance upto 600 ohms. Max power is 2 Vrms depending upon load when HiFi mode is turned on.

                                        Connecting a headphone of 32 ohms impedance we get 0.4 Vrms max. Any headphones of above 50 ohms, we get 1 Vrms. Using a headphone with impedance in the region of 300 ohms will give you 2 Vrms.

                                        Output impedance of the headphone jack for G8X is 1.55 ohms.
