Jeez...maybe you should sell your phone, as ... morei dont think the alarm works with the phone off in android 1.6 but may in 2.1.
Virtually all phones these days have alarms which start up with the phone off for the owner to have privacy from people phoning at funny hours.
I can only suggest if anyone wants to use the alarm but not hear the phone ringing to set the call and text tones to silent at night.

The price just hit $170, you can get it on meritline. No Epic 4G but great price for an unlocked Android phone.

BUT IF YOU DONT KNO WHERE THIS LG SERVICE CENTER IS THAN Just open the user guide manual of lg gt540 in which you will find out a toll free customer care no. started with 1800.. then ask them that you want to upgrade your gt540 they will give you all detail of lg mobile service center near your area.

On Mobile Network Setting, I checked Use only 2G networks... And then after few weeks, I unchecked it but the icon on my phone still displays 2G.. How can I get it back to 3G??

Guys micromax has launched an android phone which will be less than 8k. So go for that it has accelerometer and g sensor for playing racing games. It will be released within one or two weeks. It is the real value for money it has gps with voice guided navigation ,wifi , google maps, 3g with 7.2 mbps hsdpa and 5.7 mbps hsupa.
