    Thank you Sanjith and Megabubbletea.

Can you guys tell me whether this phone can be updated to latest Android 2.2 Froyo (officially or unofficially)? Also I have heard that once you upgrade the Android OS it cannot be downgraded, is it so? I am new to Android OS and it will be very nice if you people can provide information regarding this.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Bobby Thomas.

MegaBubbletea, 01 Nov 2010The LG Optimus was released in Australia in August.@ MegaBubbletea

I meant the 2.1 eclair update, the official LG one, through their mobile support tool (i.e. not through rooting and flashing a ROM)

                                      Hi guys,

Seeing the Specs I think this one is an average performer. I haven't used this before so I don't know about the functionalities or ease of use. I am planning to buy this one as my Xperia X1i expired last night, I will need to take it to a service center.

When I compared the technical specs of this with my Xperia and Samsung Galaxy5 (5503). I think this is worth a buy. Below are the major differences in performance point of view. This one uses 32 bit Qualcomm MSM7227 processor (600 MHz) whereas my Xperia X1 uses 32 bit Qualcomm MSM7200A (528 MHz) and the Samsung Galaxy5 uses a 600 MHz processor (I think its a Samsung processor). Then with ROM capacity, this one have 256MiB with 130MiB accessible, Xperia X1i with 512 MiB, 281.33MiB accessible and Samsung Galaxy5 512 MiB (no user accessible space). Then regarding RAM both Optimus and Galaxy5 have 256 MiB SDRAM (but Optimus have 156MiB accessible) and Xperia X1 with 256 MiB mobile DDR SDRAM (and this one is better than the other two). I acquired following info by comparing these three phones side by side on " http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer "

Can you guys suggest the best one,ie, Samsung Galaxy5 or LG GT540 Optimus based on the performance and technical features. I will customize the phone (ROM) to suite my needs and so can you guys tell me which one is more customizable?

                                      Thanks and Regards,
                                      Bobby Thomas.
