Not the right place, but it plays mp3's, and the volume can be turned up..sound, well dependant on which player you use can vary.

I still use an mp3 player though, rather than my phone.

That would be a tall task, as with so many owners over so many different areas, and so many factors to add in, that it would be almost impossible to say for definite that it has issues with the antennae/signal, unless multiples from the same area all chimed in.

I had this phone for 1 day before returning it. The problem with phone is it's antenna - it struggles to get reception in the same location other phones I owned have a good - full bars - signal.

The phone I'm currently using is Nokia 5230. There is always a full signal on 3G. The Optimus gets about 2 bars at best on 2G. This is when using the same sim as the Nokia.

I tried phoning the mobile from a landline to test it's responsiveness - out of 6 calls spaced about 5 minutes apart, 3 of the calls didn't cause the mobile to ring but went straight through to my network's answerphone - I know from experiece this is due to poor signal.

Having such a weak antenna means this phone doesn't suceed in it's most primary function so it's hard to see how any website could possibly recommend it.

I've experinced the same problem with many HTC phones.

What would be useful to see here on this website is an accessment of each phone's ability to receive a signal because it's clear to me that there are large differences between 1 phone's ability to receive a signal and another. And what use is a phone that is incapable of connecting unless you happen to always be in a strong signal area?

Why LG is so dumb in launching its other models in INDIA. They have provided this so old Optimus gt-540 which runs on android 1.6...... ohhh
shame on them while they know that people in India are quality conscious and can throw money to buy good handsets and as a result we have HTC Desire, Samsung Galaxy S, Motorola Milestone and XT-720.
Wake up LG and be attentive in your marketing as u follow ohter players rigorously by launching new produucts close to ur rivals specs.....
Common do something innovative and new in India.....
else people like me wldnt even give a little thought of ur existence......... WAKE UPPPPPPPPPP....!!!!!!

to get it on the net, using wifi, you have to input the information that is on your router, like an ip address, DNS information, etc, and/or password or phrase, etc..
only you would know this, the phone companys wouldnt.

to get 3G internet, you have to enter your providers details as APN settings, or get them to text the settings to you..

my opinion is though, to send the phone back, its obviously too much for you to comprehend, jeez.... :(
