Connect the phone to the pc, with the included usb cable, and then press the "menu" touch sensor, and select "Noticifications".
Then select to "Mount" the SD card(it's the only notification you will see).
Go to your pc, and select the phone(whatever drive letter is has will appear in your "My Computer", if for example, you use XP).
Then double click the phones drive.
You will then see lots of folders, etc simply right mouse click on an empty space, in the SD card window, and select "New Folder", and then name it.
As for the un-named folder, just press and hold your finger on the screen, until the bin appears at the bottom, then drag the folder to the bin, and let go.
I've got one of these, and like to play with the Settings, but once you have used 1 Android phone, they are all the same, basically, as it's like a pc, a universal platform, not like jumping from an older nokia, to a samsung say, where everything might be different, due to their layout.

Checked in settings but only founf info on SD card which does not let me do anything. Did try to create folder from my home screen, and not got a blank folder on the home screen which cannot delete - how the hell do I get rid of it. PS How do you know so much about this phone!!!

Glovans, 12 Sep 2010Just got LGGT540 four days back. It is good. But i have s... moreI forgot to cover the last part of your thread. I assume that you have 'Unmounted' the SD card and are using a card adaptor to transfer your pics.
If you get the message that you cannot create a folder then you probably have the 'write protect' tab on the adaptor set to 'ON'. Change the adaptor to 'Write Enable' - move the slide on the side of the adaptor to the opposite end. I've forgotten to set it to 'ON' lots of times.

You can only add a pic as a contact icon ... more@ RFB - I can see where you're coming from with Glovens problem, but he stated on his thread that he couldn't SEE the pics in his Gallery.
@Glovens - You didn't state whether the pics were taken WITH the camera or whether you imported them. If they were imported then they might be in a format that the phone cant read.

1. are using the "from phone" view, from contacts.
or
2. Sync with Google Contacts, and have pics on there.
Some people forget they have contacts shown from Sim, and you don't get pics that way, only on phone view.

Right, on the SD card, create a folder called "Media" - without the quotes obviously..lol
Then inside that "Media" folder, create folders called, "Notifications", "Ringtones", "Alarms". - again, without quotes.
Now, if you want to change your message tone, chuck your .mp3's in the "Notifications" folder, then open your message client(the little green icon on the home screen), press the menu touch sensitive button(lower left under the screen), select "Settings" then scroll down to Ringtones, and just change it there.

Glovans, 12 Sep 2010Thanks freefaller. However, all the photos i have in my SD ... morePage 64 in the manual states that all photos are stored on the memory card, so they must be there if you used the camera to hold the photos you want to use for your Contacts.
The same page in the manual explains the menu bar icons in Gallery. Make sure that you select the 'All' icon. Any photos you have stored on your phone should now be on display.

1) Press the 'Gallery' icon on your phone. Select the picture you want to use as a contact. Open it and press the left soft key. Select 'More'. On the menu that appears, then press 'Set as'. Select 'Contact' icon. Select the contact to assign it to. Resize the icon to the size you want and press the 'Tick' icon.
2) You can't select a photo as a Theme. If you mean set as wall paper then do the same as before, but on the 'Set as' set it as either Wallpaper or Lock Screen.
3) Can't help with the Bluetooth problem as I've never used Bluetooth.

Just got LGGT540 four days back. It is good. But i have some basic doubts as I am new to Android OS.
a) How to add photos to contacts? I tried through Edit Contact. It leads to Pictures and when I select pitcture from SD card folder, it does not stick to the contact. I also tried throuh OI File Manager. Went to particular folder, selected the photo and continuously pressed it. Came a serious of options and in it selected Contact icon. Went to contacts selected a contact but message comes that andoird.support stopped working and asking me to Force Close. How to do this easily. Can anyone help?
b) How to add photos in SD card as theme? Can downloaded theme be applied? Read in this gsmarena that Android OS does not support downloaded themes.
c) I am unable to receive files/songs/photos through bluetooth. I am able to send it to other phones. But not able to send even after pairing with the phone. The phone which is trying to send the file shows "Sending failed". Can anyone help?
d) As RTB Fox suggested i tried to create a folder in SD but says "Could not create new folder". Why?
