To Cingular_Rep - you had stated that this phone will not work in most states bc of frequency problems. I live in Chicago, and according to wirelessadvisor.com, Chicago is covered in both 850 AND 1900. Can you verify this? Has anyone else in Chicago used this phone?

to all insecure and noisy NOKIA and SONY fans,

You cannot accept that NOKIA and SE phone designs are out of date like just those in 1945 walkie talkie. Function wise, yap these manufacturers have a litte extra functions but not advance compared to LG or other major manufacturer. So therefore, I believe that NOKIA and SE are nothing but a second rate trying really really very hard copy cats manufacturers.

Well you cannot put down a very good phone and an upcoming big star in the mobile world. This phone only serves as an initial attack in the market until all of you wait for the full attact with upgrades on this chocolate phones.

Go LG, flood the market with this amazing chocolate phone and launch an upgrades with your black label choco phones

Well it's good to hear an opposing view from someone who is happy with their phone.

Perhaps I will get one after all!

i specially looked through other phone manufacturers and opinions on them and it seems like criticizing LG is ...popular!i've had many phones like nokia, samsung, erricson, siemens and i want to say LG is as good as them.plus, quality of the phone chips is the best on the market right now.about buggs and errors, every phone has them!samsung especially, like 5 out of 10 phones.so about Chocolate, personally i think it's great!it works(my phone) without any problems and i don't think if it doesn't have memory card slot it's out of functions.call quality is fine and mp3 and camera is nice too! something i love this phone for is ability to read text files!! it helps on exams very well(for students=]] )!reccomend it!

That's an interesting review which is helpful in the sense that it confirms that the phone does have certain shortcomings.

The one that concerns me most is poor call quality (internittent or not) - good call quality is vital to me, so I think I will resist temptation on this one, at least for the being.

Anyone else have views on call quality?

In reality this phone looks great you can't fault it! 5 stars.. for functionality it's fine, it does what it should do. But it's not up to scratch with either Nokia or Sony, I'm not saying it's bad it's just not as good and i'd doubt anyone would argue this point. Call clarity is a little weak from time to time and the text message alert is very quiet even with the ringtone set to full. I've had the phone for a week and half now and have decided to take it back to CPW. In a nut shell if you want a phone that looks great this is it!. if you want a phone that is as functional as a nokia or sony this is'nt it.. it's like having a stunning looking girlfriend with a boring personality, could you put up with it? yes probably, would you want to change her for an all round better package after 6 months? Definitely!!

To the person below : Just press any number on the number pad, and the red lights will light up. Then press on the 'Select" touch pad. Simple as that.

Hi, very interested in the lg chocolate. As a nokia girl for the past 5 years i've taken Nokia's functions for granted, and have been a real skeptic of other brands.
A few things i like in Nokias is the "go to" list which is one button to your most used functions.. alarm, calculator, inbox etc.
The create message screen stores the previous message, this is a god send, as losing a text is very annoying!
I've loved the way that ringtones can be shortened to SMS alerts, and the volume has been great, so pretty concerned about the LG. Wondering if anyone could clarify if the LG chocolate has any of the features mentioned? Thanks in advance!

All reviews i've read have praised this phone, that's why I bought it. I've had absolutly no problems at all and think it's a fantastic phone.

to the guy that has people complaining about poor call quality. Any chance you can try a different phone at the same spot your getting poor call quality? It might not be the phone itself you know. Perhaps your network has a problem with a phone mast in your area? Are they complaining that the calls are quiet or crackly? no offence but if the call is quiet then are you sure you are talking to the mouth piece (you'd be surprised how many people don't!).

If you feel the phone is faulty, take it back to the shop and try another. I wouldn't change the phone for a diff model though as nothing comes close to this in my opinion.

LOL, Ive only read the reviews now and its hilarious how smart people can be. Like NO slot for a sim card. In Kgogobongoland where Eric lives, phones are obviously so advanced it feeds from stupidity and doesnt need simcards.LOL. The phones only coming out in South africa now, so now opinion yet, but from what u guys say, its a waste of very material.

Take it back and complain - most reputable companies will allow you to change it if it is not up to the job.

                            Good luck!

I bought this phone last week as I thought it was better than the Nokia 6280. Have an 18 month contract now which I can' get out of. No one can hear me when I talk, no downloads etc wish I hadn't bought it now

dave, which network are you using and which country are you in?

Do you normally get good signal strength or not?

Is it definitely the phone to blame? If so it sounds pretty useless - there is nothing worse than people at the other end of a call complaining about call quality!
