To Phil:
The term tri band technology is used to note that the phone can operate on three different bands. A quad band phone can be used on four different bands. GSM Networks in the the US use the 1900 network, so yes, the phone will work in the US.

any one knows please if i can use the phone for music only without active sim card, i intend to give the phone as a gift for a child.

The LG KG800 is a good phone and very easy to use. But the botton keys dont light up which makes messaging in the dark impossible!!!!!!! that is rather annoying if i knew that i wont not have got this phone!

i've had this phone since june . the touchpad is so easy to use ! and the amount of songs is pretty okay . honestly , the functions are pretty basic . the only bad thing i can say is that it doesnt work well with rogers =/ i was using fido and it was fine , then i switched to rogers and my phone started freezing up . maybe it's just MY phone that's like that , but beware .

it is not really a coment but a question: will the phone work in the usa because it is a tri-band and most companies use the quad band technology

Rogers released the LG Chocolate TG800 which is similar to this. Does anyone know if it also has the same problems as this one does?

Beth, the reason that is happenin is for one of 2 reasons,
1. your sim card is stuffed, buy a new one
2. the phone is locked to a network.. to check which network look at the 3 letters after your serial number (on the back of the phone) it is a code for the network in australia TEL=Telstra, OPT=Optus etc. contact them and see if they can unlock it

i've had this phone for a few months and think its great! i love the way it looks and have had no problems with it!
i don't see why people have to pick holes in evrything! It could just be that you don't know how to use it properly or you jus got a dodgy model. but at least give it a chance, its one of the best phones i have ever had!

well i got this phone on contract it gud so far but i dont know how you can put songs from the pc to the phone with the usb cable can anyone help me because i dont know.

i got this phone for around half a year already, and its good. i dont know how people say its bad, but if you get used to the touch pad its a breeze. The mp3 player is nice and it can store up to 11 songs? i havent stored that much music on yet so i dont really know.

this phone is not good !! does anyone know how to turn up the volume of the sms noise when you get a message? surely there is more then 4 standard noises for sms????and there is no back light on the keys ,so forget doing sms's in the dark!!!!!! help please if you know how to turn it up, or find sms tunes, or email me and you might get a cheap phone .cheers

I have been using this phone for about 4 months. It really sucks. it frezes all the time, reception goes away. SPECIALLY FOR THE GUT FROM CANADA asking about this phone. dude i used it in IRAN, it worked pretty good, as soon i put my canada sim card in it, it started pissing me off. Overral, really bad phone, its surface is also very sensetive, if you drop it once, it scraches all over. In Canada i have seen stores selling it individually, but about 600$CAD. And i bought it for about 350CAD4 out of Canada. DONT BUT THIS PHONE.

I bought a 2nd hand Lg800 about 2 weeks ago.It looks great. I have only just got round to puting a sim card for it. However when i put my sim card in it comes up "sim registration failure" at first i thought oh no ive bought a stolen phone. but when i check the imei number on the web it says its not been reported stolen. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone know how i can get it fixed? I can still get into camera, videos etc no problem but cant make any phone calls tried a few different sims and keeps coming up the same. Thanks Beth :) Im stumped? Please help.

Not a good phone...battery lasts 2 days, drops calls, the touch pad does what it want... too much money spent on it and it wasn´t worth it!
But it does look great!

Hey, Im getting this phone as soon as it is offered in Canada. It looks like that is going to be soon as some companies are beginning to offer it. Is this phone worth it? Is it a good phone in general, and hows the MP3 player on it? Thanks!
PS: Any news on its release through Canada's Rogers Wireless network would be wonderful.
