It seems to me that in everbody's race to catch iphone, they are only working the multimeda and harware angle. Is that really wha iphone is about? I mean dont get me wrong, this phone is great, but would it not be better with Android or Windows mobile?

Here is my reasoning. The strength of iphone to me is the apps. Soooo many to chose from, and they basically got the whole world developing for them. So to make a fone that even comes close you have to match that somehow. This fone uses its own S Class UI, but they just dont have the position to be able to put out a SDK and have developers swarm it like they did Apple. It will simply be ignored. At least Android and WinMo have some apps and customisability.

I mean i like it, for pure multimedia its awesome, but i cant fork out all that cash for a fone that will only run j2me apps, its just not worth it. I would consider the Samsung omnia HD more of a viable iphone competitor, but i bet even that one won't get much developer attention using that s60 interface. The next big thing will happen either on Android or WinMo. If they had developed it with one of those operating systems, it would have been perfect!

        Ok had a bit more time to play with this phone and following on from my previous post, here's some other stuff I've discovered:

        To anyone having difficulty with the fm transmitter, try plugging in a set of headphones - mine sounded crap until I tried that. In terms of general sound quality and transmission distance, it's now similar to what I get from the itrip on my ipod touch.

        Tbh there isn't a whole lot to complain about this phone, though I do find sunlight legibility is a let down - good thing it's usually overcast here in the uk.. heh

        Music management on the phone isn't great, but in a way the amazing sound quality makes up for this - it's made my ipod touch somewhat redundant now.. And to all those complaining about the bass, buy a pair of bass heavy earphones like the sennheiser cx300s. Though I personally think it sounds perfect through my Shure SE210s.

        The LG PC Suite III is usable.. though the music management bit is quite possibly the worst I've ever used - and that includes the infamous sonic stage.. save yourself some time and just copy it over in the mass storage mode.

        Haven't managed to get gps working on google maps (which I had to download separately cos orange removed the original), but it does work pretty well with the free amAze software - really quick too, only about 5-10 seconds to find my location on a cloudy day.

        The thing that's most annoying is probably the 300 email limit on a phone with 8gb of storage.. Oh and divx videos only play if they're 240x320 (though I think mp4 and 3gp both support 480x720). Really hope LG will fix these in the next firmware update.

        In good lighting, I think the camera is really good, esp for macros. The manual focus and face detection are also pretty neat.

        Hope this is useful to some people :) for other info/opinions, search back for my previous post - can't be bothered to type it all again.

          I will be buying the phone very soon and I know that it is great. Base with LG Cookie, the phone would be wonderful. Regarding the price, they said that it would be around 25-30K here in the Philippines.

              Hi all,
              I have the will to buy the LG KM900, but I need to know 3 things before buying it:

              1- Is it coming with profiles like Nokia mobile phones?
              2- Can I set a tone to the caller?
              3- Can I save the messages in the memory card?

                Hi all!

                This phone looks nice. I'm thinking of buying it.

                But first, a couple of questions.

                How responsive is the keypad? I'm a very fast texter and texting is important to me. On cnet.co.uk, they said in their review that the responsiveness of the keypad is very bad and had a video comparison between the iphone and the km9000 in their video review. I've got a feeling that they might have been using a pre-release version though. Fast texters only please for this question.

                Second question. How does it handle delivery reports? As if it was a message like the old Nokia 3310 or as a seperate report like with new Nokias?

The 2 gadgets i got the phone for, they're rubbish, i'm taking mine back. Looks very nice, but fails to meet expectations.

                    I got my Arena yesterday and so far im very impressed with it. Not sure why people are SO negative about it :S i supose some people will have a moan about everything. I have got it on orange, and the maps that come with it are in french for some reason :S not sure why. But this is no problem as i have put google maps on it and it is working fine :)
