Can you tell me if you need to do something with the Divx? I cant even see it on my phone, I've had nokias in the past with RealPlayer which I could find within menus. Also I have tried to install and activate divx but the movie clip you are supposed to play on the phone I can't converted as the dixv converter keeps crashing at 90%.
I just wish this was all sorted out ont he phone at roll out.

Why oh why oh why does LG have to ruin a potentially great phone/hardware with stupid crippled software?
1. Divx - on Viewty could just drag most Divx files onto the phone's memory and then watch. Now a ridiculous conversion process using software you need to install on a PC. What a backward step.
2. Youtube - can stream from Youtube via mobile network but not via Wi-Fi. Crazy. Slow and expensive versus fast and free. I don't get 3g at home, yet forced to download Youtube clips at 2g speeds because phone won't use Wi-Fi for youtube. Crazy.
3. 300 EMAIL MESSAGE LIMIT - WORST OF ALL
For a phone that has 8 gig of memory and IMAP support, a message limit of 300 is ridiculous. Like really pants. How many people are going to be happy with an email INBOX that can contain a maximum of 300 emails? I guess the same will apply to texts too.
LG is showing how to do stupid things to ruin a potentially great phone. Its not like these are amazingly obscure things that users might want to do:
1. Divx support is generally thought to mean that the phone can play the files, not that you have to convert them. And dixv/xvid is the most common compressed video format by far.
2. Youtube is the most used streaming site on the web and Wi-Fi is ubiquitous whereas 3G is not.
3. Most people use email these days and have more than 300 emails.
PS I don't understand how all the reviewers across the web missed these terrible flaws. What use is a 3D interface if you can watch videos, youtube or email?

c04cd2, 10 Apr 2009Is there a limit to how many messages the phone will hold, ... moreno limit, you can also view it as a chat like MSN so you dont have to keep switching from inbox to sent. You can lock the SMS/MMS/E-mail and also other features like documents, sounds, photos etc.

Is there a limit to how many messages the phone will hold, and if so how many, whether it be overall, or a certain number for each inbox and outbox?
Also, is there a saved messages option, or lock messgaes for example?

I've got this phone. I was delighteds that this phone catered to my needs. Unfortunately I could not ne more wrong. I want this phone to succede, however it seems so many things are glitchy or not working.
The main thing that i wanted the phone for is the divx/xvid support. That does not work. I've online that people are saying that you need to convert the files first with the divx mobile option. Even then it still does not work and gives an error "NOT SUPPORTED" error message. The web brosing is clunky and slow. It has an option to increase the zoom ratio, however when you go into the page, the settings revert to small. I'm thinking of returning this handset.

Hi
People who have this phone and have problems with video streaming over a wifi connection "Wifi not supported" would you mind escalating this with either your operator or LG Service as I have but they are telling me that there hasn't been any other reports, I think this needs to be fixed.
If anyone has actually managed this could you please let us know how we can do this on our phones.
many thanks

rich, 10 Apr 2009hi kerry 02 will not be selling them as im with o2 but ive ... moreHi thanks Anonymous for the answer about the FM radio/headphones thing...seems silly still that ud need to put headphones in to listen to it on speaker but w/e!
Ive had more time to play around with this phone and it really is top draw. I found out how the FM transmitter works too! Just need to go into 'tools'...so took some digging around to get to it. It should really have said in the manual where to find it in my defence!
Anyway kerry Im on Orange, 600mins, unlimited texts unlimited internet £30/month...so if you don't fancy T-mobile for any reason, or u just dont want those extra 200 minutes for £1.50 then go to the phones4u website and choose dolphin 35 (its on offer for £25/month and then just add mobile internet).
Does anyone know where to get applications for this device? Can you install flash player/java/quicktime player? Also to the guy who couldnt play youtube videos via wifi ive got the same problem. No idea how to fix it. Im thinkin it could be something to do with the fact ive got a branded phone, so maybe Orange aren't letting me use wifi for youtube, although cant really see why not.
Is there a way to install the phone's original firmware so I don't see orange stuff all over my screen?
