Bought this arena KM900 in HK on my way back to Canada last May 09. The firmware on the unit was KM900AT-V10a... i can relate to all the negative issues that i have read here. freezing when dialing, no access to youtube, music icon freezes,i even had an annoying roaming icon and the headset on at all times even when i was not roaming at all here in Canada. headset icon wouldnt disappear after use, i had to reset it all the time...UNTIL june 09 when the first upgrade of firmware was available (thanks to lg forum guys)i went ahead and upgraded the firmware to V10e...and last sept, i was able to get another upgrade to my presrnt firmware which is V10H.. mann i tell you, i was in the same shoes as all of you were before, i almost torched this arean until the firmwares were changed...now i enjoy the no freezing, youtube crystal clarity, no more annoying icons, music and music videos (MP4 format) at its best, thanks idesktop.tv, super dvd clarity. wifi connection is smooth...by the way, when formatting, select the original place where the phone was purchased, even if im in canada using it thru rogers network, i download my firmware with the country choice of HK...everything was done thru LGMobile support tool and LGmobile updater (available from the CD in the box as purchased)... i believe this fone whom i thought sucks is actually a great phone upon changing the firmware. i was a HTC(telus canada) user before and a nokia N series user (which i bought in the Phil back in 2006)...this arena KM900 is a great fone, simple, user friendly..and uniquge UI. its an eye catcher since Arena isnt sold YET in Canada. im a happy Arena user. oh by the way....im still with you all in regards to the BATTERY...it doesnt last 24 hours...altho i have the patience to charge it every evening for a couple of hours..its cool!!

Nick, 22 Dec 2009I purchased the Arena last June and to be completely honest... moreI agree. I got mines same time as you did and it is just a waste of money. The features on the box are all useless. The only good thing is I see is the camera but again you cannot turn off the shutter sound which is really annoying. The music is ok but not great. The interface is easy to use but texting is also another problem.

This phone has huge nmber of issues. Few listed below -
1) Hangs several times for no reason.
2) GPS doesnt work (no proper builtin application, at least to show the location and compass, a very basic feature of GPS)
3) No option as shown in demos for setting FM Transmittor (may be it doesnt work!)
4) Battery has very poor performance (in a brand new phone i have, it gives less than 1/2 hr of usage with display)
5) Service is pathetic. The service guy doesnt even know what is GPS.

This phone is now only £65 at CeX. I do not work for them but I'm wondering if I should buy this or pay £30 more for a samsung jet?

I have never in my entire life have been so disappointed from anything I bought... LG made a great show off phone with absolutely nothing, do not buy this phone.. If anyone is considering of considering to buy this phone, back off, leave it be. The firmware on this phone the so called "s-class UI" is worthless, except for nice smooth 3d graphics it has nothing, slow on music and gallery, no multi-touch for games, extremely slow java. A complete let-down.

Oh yeah, battery life is really unacceptable, even for a 'multimedia' device. Ever wondered why the original retail price of 499 euros has dropped to 289 euros in only a few months???

I purchased the Arena last June and to be completely honest, this phone has proved to be a complete let-down from day one. Not only does the menu freeze all the time, the music player doestn't make any sense and is completely unlogical and not user-friendly. When a song is done and you want to go to another song by pushing the back-button, you automatically go back to the first song in the list, extremely annoying! I'll be glad to get rid of it by the end of the month!

Hi! I'm a religious reader of The Arena, big fan! ust one small question- what's the capacity of the processor? I'm guessing with the hardware acceleration it's at least clocked at 500mhz. But exactly how much is it?

Could someone help me, my phone seem to off by itself rather often for no reason at all anf also m poone seem to lag alot now a days like unlockng phone while listening to music or increasing the volume while listening to music

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2009can any1 help? how can i get rid of the earphone icon on my... morePlug and unplug the earphone to its connector for few times will fix this problem. Alternatively, do a reset settings to your phone to restore all the settings to it factory defaults.

hello to all. Im an N82 user for more than a year now, but im interested in buying the LG Arena coz it seems that its got everything i want in a phone. although its not a smartphone like the n82, i kinda like its S-Class user interface coz it looks awesome!
and because im so bored with the UI of Symbian smartphones! i also want to try the capacitive touchcreen of the Arena.
Guys, can anyone give me a little basic info about the advantages and disadvantages of this phone?
and another important question, where would i find the stereo speaker of this phone? which part is it located? coz when i do the 360degree spin, i cant find any speaker.

Pls help... how can i fix the camera problem of my arena?
everytime i 'll use the outer camera it says that " NOT ENOUGH SYSTEM MEMORY TO CAPTURE " but i can still use tha inner camera and video...anyone help me please...tnx

Anonymous, 16 Dec 2009hi guys. there seems to be a problem with my phone or so i ... moreThis issue also known as Ghosting. Just simply restart your phone to fix this issue.
If the problem still persist after you restart your phone, do a reset setting to your phone, so as to restore all the settings to it factory defaults. Details as follow:
Go to "Phone settings > "Reset settings" > "All settings will be reset. Continue?" > tap "Yes" to confirm > Key in the default security code "0000" > tap "ok" to proceed.
P.S. Remember to reboot your phone after you completed the reset settings.
