when you used the Mp3 player, did all the tracks automatically appear, and was the album art shown?

thanks for the indepth guide to the 6GB, cleared up a lot of problems i thought there might be :)

This afternoon I took the risk to buy a 6gb card (ScanDisk microSDHC 6GB, class 4, with USB MicroMate adapter)=>70 euros.
My Viewty accepted it without problems: no crash, no complain. When I looked at the external memory properties, they read like this:
              Used: 888064 Kb
              Available: 1767712 Kb

Thanks to what I read on this forum, I did not panic. I switched to LG PC Suite in order to start filling the memory. BIG surprise:
              - first, this buggy software would report an error on each file copied (so it is impossible to copy a group of files)
              - second, on each file copied, I saw available memory decreasing (another post on this forum says nothing changes before we use 4Gb): the available memory counter decreases regularly both in PC Suite and in the Viewty.
              - third, copying files with PC Suite is very slow: 1h42min to copy a 517 Mb file

That's where the MicroMate helps. It is a little boring and tricky to have to remove the battery and extract the microSD card and put it in the adapter. Windows XP recognized the new volume in a snap.
So I blasted some directory contents on the new removable drive that appeared in Explorer (to tell the truth, I had to reboot before doing this).
Copying a 587 Mb file with Windows took 5min. So I rapidly copied more than 2 Gb on the card. In Windows, properties read like this:
              Used: 2.49 Gb
              Available: 3.18 Gb

I unplugged the card and put it back in the Viewty. Now the properties of external memory read like this:
              Used: 888064 Kb
              Available: 3343040 Kb

I tested some image, sound, and video files burried deep inside a maze of directories: it worked. Displaying images located in external memory shows a latency; mp3 and divx do not seem to suffer.

So, now you know how to feed the Viewty with more than 2 Gb.

(In fact, since the Viewty hardware is able to read the SDHC format, the device should be able to read 32Gb cards)

the same hang times is happening with 2 or 4 gb card. it's about how much files you have on the card, not the percentage use of it(eg. 3 movies of 600 mb, no hang time at all, 50 movies of 10 mb 2 to 10 seconds processing). though, the best decision for everyone is to try(borrow) 2 or 4 gb from a friend and then decide by yourself.

                        to julezzz.
I have not received my phone, but just have a little input about the 2 gb...
It is prob a good idea to go by the recommended 2gb rather than anything higher.
I currently work for TomTom which also gives the same suggestion (2gb with minimum read speed of 10 mb/s) when using SDs on PDAs,mobiles, and TomTom devices which take SD cards. Using cards with higher capacities often cause the devices to drag and not function as wished by the user. You would not believe how many people call us and complain that it is not working and it turns out they are using a 4 gig card or even camera SDs that operate slower than 10 mb/s.

I'm a proud owner of a Viewty, and frankly, it's the best phone i have ever used.

Typing on the touchscreen was my main concern, It's a breeze, and i am a frequent texter.

I don't like the fact that it shows every picture and video you have on the phone in the camera viewer, because my backgrounds and other pictures that should rather not be seen end up there, hehe.

Further, the flash is a bit underpowered. It's not as bright as the one on the SE K800/K810, for example.

Here's a sample macro picture i took with it:
