haha no worries, we're both entitled to our own opinion, and if we all think alike, then there really is no reason to debate.

I guess u r right. most people want wifi just so they can brag about it. but for me personally, i might be at a frd's house and i dont want to use their computer, so i might want to use their wireless and go on msn or something, or maybe even go online and check my email/facebook as im in bed. both of those ideas r intriguing for me. but that's just me.

I live in Canada myself, and i actually dont think LG is that popular around here...im waiting for the Hong Kong version, because I want to be able to write in Chinese, so I am still eagerly waiting. And still no word on the phone call quality...=(

I don't mean to argue. I am quite excited that this mobile is now available (have been keeping my eye on it). I'm in Canada and am currently waiting for my current contract to drop and hopefully will be able to buy this phone and use on rogers/fido.

To me, i don't think it takes away from the phones usability and functionality. I can see what you mean with using a touchscreen with Wifi, but its performance to a computer is not comparable. In North America, computer access is easily obtained making the use of wifi on a phone in a way- obsolete. Most people only want to say "my phone has wifi," and not actually use it, as a desktop/laptop computer is within reach.

          To KM:

that is true, being close to an unsecured internet source usually means a laptop/comp being nearby as well, but with Viewty having such a large display and touchscreen, it seems foolish for LG not to incorporate WiFi...cuz if u dont use internet for a touchscreen phone with a 3" display...then u're just limiting the phone to reach it's full potential.

I've got a question for all LG owners specifically Viewty or Prada, do they support OTA or PC download firmware updates like nokia? Or do we have to send the phones back to a service center to get them updated?

Why does everyone think Wifi is so important in a phone? You need to be in proximity of a unsecured wireless network, and chances are if a router is near, so is a computer. I'd rather log onto a computer and surf the net than use a phone.

I'm not sure if this is correct or not, but from numerous other website, people been saying that the KU990 is quadband phone? Anyone know if this is true?

                                      ECBomb:
I haven't tried calls or video calls. Waiting for my number to switch to the new sim so i don't confuse people.
I've text, and its good as expected. Handwriting comes in two styles; per letter (you get a divided box and write a letter in one side and straight away into the other side and alternate between the sides of the 'handwriting box' for each letter - very quick, fun, and easy to use); full screen/per word - its average and not great recognition (unless you have very clear handwriting i expect).

                                      Hi-tek:
About image stabilization, yes it is there and yes it does work. Works as well as can be expected with small sensor sizes (don't be expecting the same performance stabilization as you get in a digital camera). You lose the grain of the image mainly, haven't noticed any really enhancements on indoor low light shots.

Video quality is good imo. Supports wide-screen mode that i think is nice. Easy to use too. Only fuss is that the mic is positioned near the jog wheel so if your using that to zoom in or out it picks up the noise - easily use the on screen zoom instead. 30fps avi - I know that's approx NTSC rates but could easily get away with half that and reduce file size significantly - option to select recording fps would be great advantage.

                                      Ppl for Lag issue:
Yes the lag is about the same as the K850i (from what i remember when comparing them in the shop), seems to be consistent for all available picture sizes - down to 320x240 still with the same lag between pressing the button and the picture being taken. There's no need to hold the button down, once the 'take photo' routine is started it doesn't stop. There's enough lag to think 'come on take the picture' and then it takes.

                                      Tenzin:
Yes it does come with a stylus pen. Although no handy place to store it away on the phone.

I'm really starting to fall in love with touch screen, it makes life SO easy and very quick (however only in places, LG need to work on their UI design a bit and it could be magic). On the topic of the general UI etc - when phone is on silent the shutter sound still goes when taking a photo. You can not select your own shutter sound and therefore you *always* have a shutter sound = annoying.

Still having trouble taking photo's in medium light conditions, indoors. My impression is that its not a point and shoot camera.. and you need to learn the right settings for the right lighting situation.

I'm hoping when the LG mobile site comes back up (sometime today apparently) we'll have some nice theme's etc for the Viewty. Fingers crossed.
