Take this as an example, the iphone 5 costs 212$ or something like that to build, but apple sells it at around 650$ unlocked. The nexus 7 costs around 179$ to build and google makes around 20$ a nexus

I agree, there are games being played
here by LG/Google. Google Web Search
handles millions of searches every minute,
you believe they can't handle a couple of
thousand order on Play Store? Think it
over again! Personally I think Google make a loss on
every NX4 they sell - Look at the price!!!!
That's why they don't do "PRE-ORDER". Google has to play this game to gain
market visibility (marketing) and market
share on Apple and at the same time
making it terribly hard for Microsoft to
enter the market with their pricey
product. Well play by Google! Having said that - I'm happy to wait and
buy NX4 - My phone is still working fine
and pure android experience is priceless!
