I bought my LG Nexus 5 from Jan 2014 and use it until now. I changed battery one time (by myself) and after that phone becomes like new. I many times wanted to buy new phone but after compare with my Nexus, I refused to buy new one since my phone is such good and nothing wrong.

Had mine since May 2014. Loved the marshmallow upgrade. Battery is starting to get weak. Marshmallow really allowed phone to go through night with little battery loss. Only fault was when in car, I use polarized sunglasses. With this screen, everything disappears when in landscape mode when viewing through these glasses. Also, red finish didn't stand up to grit that inevitably gets in between the case and the phone.
I am ordering a Moto Z play now to replace it, but I have always loved it.

Using this phone since it was launched in India at the end of Nov 2013.Its working flawlessly to ever since then. It never ran into even a single problem. It survived many drops without a case. I literally abused it physically and technically. Installed n number of custom ROMs. Now running Cyanogenmod 13. This phone is the best phone I ever owned. Period. Now battery back up has reduced a lot and I am going to change battery and will continue to use Nexus 5 as secondary phone. Its hard to find replacement for this phone. Sad to hear that Google has discontinued Nexus line.

Sounds like why your phone would be shutting down and restarting while still having battery life and being laggy. It's a freaking computer, it requires maintenance just like a computer.

I bought Nexus about 2 years ago. I am a very high end user, lots of gaming, movies and all day internet access. But performance is the key for this phone. Never got any hanging or lagging issue. Not a single flaw in 2 years. Always a buttery performer.
Sleek design and light weight allows me to use it with one hand. As it is a single sim phone. I bought two more phones in between (one Samsung and one MI, which were heavier on paper specifications than nexus 5). Even MI have been 3 times to service center in a year only.
But this phone beats them all.
After such a long time, with this device. I am quiet happy with this buy.

Every charge damages the battery by a tiny amount. The life of a phone battery is usually measured at 500 charges, so if you charge your phone every day then the battery is in a poor state after about 18 months. That applies to EVERY phone, not any one particular manufacturer.

Great phone. I've had for almost 3 years now. The performance is still good given all the apps and upgrades in OS over the years. The battery has been the only thing that has been a problem for me however I suppose if you have a battery case it will be much better. The camera is decent except under low light conditions. My needs have changed where I need a better camera now otherwise I'd keep it for another year maybe two.

I had this phone for about 2 and half years, it has smooth design, good main camera, and fast processor. It was amazing from the day I bought it till the day I broke it (dropped and crushed the screen), it was a worthy phone ofc!

Be fair, this phone is approaching it's 3rd birthday now; you can't expect it to perform the way it did when it came out of the box. If you still have the box you can tell when it was made if you check the white label on the box and look at the serial number. It starts (in my case) 311K.... The 3 shows the year and the 11 shows the month that it was made, so I know that my N5 was manufactured in November 2013. I don't expect it to operate the same as it did 3 years ago!
