A Moto E 2nd gen has a 2390 mAh only needing to power a modest Snapdragon 410 and 4.5/540p display and it last maybe 2.5x longer. Both Nexus 4 and 5 have awful battery life as seen with the endurance rating here of 32hr and 38hr. Expect to kill 20-25% every hour when the screen is on. And it came from 2013, so degraded battery is already there. A "5 720p should be powered by a 2500 mAh minimum. For 1080p, should be 3000-3200 mAh minimum.

i am also using Google Nexus 5 its really a beast running high end apps and games ultra smoothly i will recommend every one to go for nexus series because it serves better then Samsung apple htc moto etc.. stock android is really what everyone wants... and the best thing about it is that it has a reverse charging option too i have charged it through usb from another smartphone.. i am really feeling like a man with this device Google is really doing better.. No disappointments at all Just the best thing ever.

I've had the phone for 2 years. It's been with me every day and has only ever had the odd issue. I got it with android 4.4 and after a few days got the Android 5 Update and the phone only got better. It performs superbly in all applications and the screen and camera are both great. After Upgrading to android 6, it's become even better again. No RAM Overhang anymore although the battery does seem to drain quicker than it used to but it still lasts a full 12 hours of use for me. The fact that in cost me £300 and it's not slowed down like my S2 did, makes it great value for money. I would not suggest buying one now as the Nexus 5X is available and i'm sure that will deliver the same joy and experience that mine has bought me. The fact that it's not slowed down after 2 years means i just don't know when it will quiet if it even will. This is a very reliable phone and can put an iPhone 6 to shame for it's age and price. I will continue to buy nexus phones as they don't get bricked and just last a long time whilst never losing their original performance.

for me 15% takes me 7%.
and sometimes more than that, depending on what i'm using.
if i'm typing on whatsapp or messenger it drains fast.
whereas if i'm simply surffing it lasts longer.
i don't know what to do.
some told me to root it and undervolt or underclock it.

I'm using Marshmallow on Nexus 5. Only 15 minutes net browsing it takes 8% of battery charge. So much battery draining. What to do ? I need a good battery backup.

One of the best i've have ever used in my life!
I bought my nexus 5 on 27/03/2014! On the 24/09/2015, i had the first problem, Power Button stuck. Then google gave me a new mobile (Refurbished), but it came brand new. Yesterday i've face a new problem, microphone stop working. I Called again google, and they sent me a new one again.
The battery problem, in my opinion is a common problem of OS upgrade.

But to be fair I was in the the tropics and going from a very cold hotel room straight out into a hot humid environment. I think this caused condensation on the board. Lucky it was under warranty. Besides that I love this phone. I have used it for 2 1/2 years and it is still fast and the screen is great. I also have not had any issues with battery life. Still good for a full day and evening of use.
