Some complain that this phone has a small battery, but the good thing is that this phone is optimized to run Android, and with android Nougat, the battery life will last more than 1 day at light/regular use.

To me it's good (I've not applied any updates to the phone 6.0.1 etc) but I haven't had an Android phone in so long so I was asking just to have a rough idea what to make of it.
One thing I did notice was from 91% to 87% was a lot quicker, this was by web browsing and taking pictures 12 shots. But overall it's been good. It's already encrypted, now just looking into MM settings further.

I charged the phone to 94% this morning 10am(out of box with no settings altered). Left in standby (no sim, no wifi etc), checked again at 10pm and it's 91%. Is this good?

Phone is great... Even with 2 GB of ram is great and very fast

I received mine earlier. Out of box it was 23% charged, I left it on counter to do something and upon returning it still is on 23%. Granted I haven't stuck my sim in yet.

The other issue is that no matter how many GB of ram - this adds to battery drain. That's why iPhone can get away with smaller batteries and still last longer.
Android needs a rethink from the ground up. Lot of landfill out there...

The phone is VFM. Amazing Camera, no lags, very nice display, and with the below battery tricks after the latest update is super.
1) Disable NFC, Cloud Print, Location Services. Enable Developer Options > Use cooler display colors. You will see battery improvements for sure.
I also disable 4G and i am using 3G only because here we do not have everywhere 4G so the phone is looking the network and this reduce the battery life.

I didn't know the hint of pressing the volum... moreIt is also to do with speed because internal flash memory is loads faster than even class 10 memory card so best if Nexus has big memory next time. Also if folk decide to plonk a big game on the memory card latency happens and causes glitches in game. Often not all of the app is moved to external memory card so if you remove memory card apps can misbehave.
This why Nexus use one big block of fast memory like iphone to solve speed/corruption and security issues problems. The drawback is device is more expensive.
Cannot wait for next Nexi which should be due to be announced in 6 weeks or thereabouts.

I don... moreIts is not much help but you say last 2-3 years and in that time even the O/S will use more RAM so by then 3GB RAM could be basic requirement. Just 3 years ago smartphones were just working on 512MB RAM now minimum 2GB.

Which one should i pick - Nexus 5x or Alcatel Idol 4? I don't have any specific requirements, though i like listening to music mainly through headphones. I mostly seek a good performance that could last me 2-3 years.
I heard about the lags in Nexus 5x and seeing that Idol 4 comes with 3 GB i am thinking of getting it (also the promise of good music quality is very tempting too), but there is overheating issue that Snapdragon 617 processor has (or at least i heard of that) and no Gorilla Glass on Idol 4 (?) (I am not sure about that)....
Other similar phones in this price range like Moto G4 Plus or Huawei P9 lite come with 2 GB of RAM in my country. So what could be the best choice for me?

Before ... morePeople saying iPhone limitation see all apps r there and any new app launch frst come on App Store n security n limitation some what u get because of ur own safety n to protect ur card details ur personal data n infact no antivirus software needed . In android options r huge but at same time hang lag insecure android n need more ram to work smooth n eats lots of batery . Like iOS no other software is smooth

Im using lg g3 im thinking to switch to nexus 5x
5x specifications are good but only thing that bothers me is its battery 🔋 so what u guys think should i stay with g3 or switch ?
