* O3D will get ICS (announced by LG).
* O3D has multitouch, can handle 10 fingers (tested by myself).
* O3D has FM radio (Hardware is there, install app will make it work, at xda)
* O3D has 3D Converter for Games and Videos/Images.
* O3D is compatible with the new MicroSD XC 64GB memory cards.
* O3D is now supported by Cyanogenmod.

But ,If you want to try out 3D stuff then ofcourse go for the lg optimus 3D ,its not bad at all, i was stuck to the exact same issue, but made up my mind ,i chose lg optimus 3d,for the following reasons(compared to galaxy s2)

-Hdmi port(cable included,for movies,pictures,games,3D too.,this is because not everyone got a screen that have dlna(wireless).

-Dual Camera on the back ,1080p /30fps and 720p(3D)/30fps

-3D Screen , watch 3D stuff, play 3D games, 3D pictures,you can ofcourse watch in normal mode(2D) at all times including 3d vidoes,3d pictures,3d games--->all can be converted into 2D in a press of a button(immediately)

-Dolby Sound (headphone(in-ear speakers included)

i love this phone,no problems at all,nice look,good specifications ,cheaper then the galaxy s2,same screen size,both got dlna,fast ,no problems at all,beautiful music player by LG (UNIQUE)

OK, for those of you who have not been able to update the official way, here it is: (this is an unofficial way but you get the OFFICIAL update, for EUROPE [i have posted this here in the past, and people have successfully updated using this(look at pg: 3 of reviews)). This update has actually been avaliable since mid november... but most people just want to update the official way... even though it leads to the same thing :s

Follow these steps:

For the .kdz file, click on the link below. Go there and download the europe open V21A file.

chester, 30 Dec 2011i used this phone and personally,i think 3D is best left to... morehi chester, hmmmm... i got the same phone and my friend have a htc evo 3D. ive tried both 3d on them,i would say the htc evo 3d have a better screen(and does have more pixel and brighter screen --->fact) but the 3D on the lg is to me excellent.
you do know that you have to place the screen away from your eyes in 30-40cm and you must hold the phone steady.

Also you can lower the 3D effect in videos and pictures and games(its like a volume control ,you move it right and left).

some people just have it hard to see 3D , others dont

LG optimus 3D size is :128.8 x 68 x 11.9 mm (4:3" screen)
samsung galaxy note: :146.9 x 83 x 9.7 mm (5:3" screen)

to the OS part, if you dont like the 2.3.5, you can install custom roms (check xda)

battery life gets better(first few weeks, you must charge 100% then empty to 0 ,then again 100 and so on-->to get maximum battery life,3D and dual camera does use more battery then normal phone does.

So far ,there is no phone like the lg optimus 3d in specification,full hd 1080p,hdmi,front camera 1,3mp dual core 1ghz, iam talking about a 3d mobile not any the htc evo 3d films 720p in 3d and 2d, and no hdmi(u can buy adapter for 30 bucks)...and so on..

i used this phone and personally,i think 3D is best left to TV's and laptops.

i prefered to play videos in 2D mode rather than 3D.

3D was not clear and the quality is somehow degraded,thats not true 3D,you can actually see some kind of light being emitted in front of the screen and to make things worse it's video is not smooth compared to 2D mode.

i tried playing Asphalt 6 or NFS and it's the worst experience i've ever had trying to play a 3D game.

i liked the live wall papers though,but i couldn't help noticing the phone size,this phone is way too big,i think it's the same size as the Galaxy note,maybe they should also call it Lg optimus 3D note.

Overall i was wondering how long the battery lasts and the sales man says it depends with yo usage and it's like other smart phones,let me not comment on this one.

OS got nothing special or any wow factor to talk about,just poor Android from Google,hope it will upgrade to ICS,which has nothing new also.

My conclusion was this is a good phone despite my negative views,it's a good archievement from Lg and hope they make better phones than this.

Hi Deepak, I have used PC update software for the purpose. Sequential steps provided below to update.

1. Download the latest usb drivers from LG site and install it.
2. Download the update program and install it.
3. Charge the phone 100%.
4. Switch on the usb debugging from Settings>Applications>Development>Usb debugging.
5. Run the update program and select the country and language.
6. Connect the phone, may be the usb drivers updated automatically, accept to install all the offered drivers and files.
7. Program will detect the software and suggest the update if applicable for your phone supplied lot.
8. If update started, it will be slow and stuck also just follow the instructions and be pateint. Good bandwidth internet connection recommended for speedy process.

Wish you all the best for the update, I am happy with the update and its amazing.

Somno, 28 Dec 2011I Dont know, i will try that out soon(my brother has the ph... moreHi, its CONFIRMED ,the button "3D" can take take photos ,so it does work As a Shutter button for the camera ( i did just test it)

3D Button on the phone works as a shutter button to take picutures WHEN IN CAMERA MODE.(when you launch the camera)
press to Autofocus, then release to take picture

3D Button also works to take you to the 3D GROUP(THE 3D List of images,vidoes,games, and stuff) WHEN NOT IN CAMERA MODE, for example at desktop of phone, or settings or whatever) ,hold the button for a second .

[deleted post]Ok,i Will try my best to help you out, but please be more specific.

which part did not work,the first part (update 5mb),go to settings,about phone ,program update,search for update(try a few times) turn on the Wifi.

or the second part, connect phone to pc ,in the phone,go to settings,then to SD Card and phone memory,mark the first choice(only masstorage),then when you the message on phone appears(activate masstorage) ,now on the pc,the internal memory appears,open it ,inside there are some folders, go the one named " LGE " , Install the suite lg suite pc iv , then disconnect the phone from masstorage,in the phone go to settings ,sd card and phone memory remove the marked (only massstorage),then connect the phone again to pc, wait for drivers and stuff to be recgonized by pc,then open the program lg suite pc iv, it will take you to steps, name the phone profile, give me your email adress i will send some pictures to make this easier

Anonymous, 24 Dec 2011I've one, how do i stop an application from running after u... moreBefore the update,video quality wasnt good,and some other 3d stuff (you have to update it)
to update:
first update phone go to settings,about phone,program update,scan for update(about 5 mb update)

then download from lg support (LG PC SUITE IV) and update it to 2.3.5( its a 400mb file)follow steps, charge the phone first.(you also have the lg pc suite iv in the internal memory, just connect the phone to pc,choose mass storage,then in file named LGE

Notes:when trying to update, u press scan for update if u get the message didnt find any updates, keep trying till it works, disconnect phone close program totally, start again till it works(it will work)

it does sound possible that the 3D button will work as shutter button ,if not with the update , iam sure there are some program or someone who is able to rewrite or create the coding of the button(so when u press the button it takes pictures) i will be back on this
