Poor LG, It is a shame to be one of the owners of LG Optimus 3D.
Even after announcing the much awaited OTA update to Gingerbread as available in November 2011, I have been unable to update my open (imported from UK into Australia) LG Optimus 3D as of 6th December 2011.
The moral of the story is LG are a very poor company when it comes to mobile phones and user experience. I admit I made a mistake of switching from HTC phones. I have decided to go back to HTC and buy a Sensation XE and bid farewell to LG forever. Any buyers of LG please be aware that the so called ICS update for LG phones, you may have to wait for the next 5 years. Good Luck with useless phones from LG....

FOR ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE NOT YET UPDATED:
I have just updated my LG to 2.3.5 the UNOFFICIAL way but to the OFFICIAL UPDATE that was released on the 21st of November. And it WORKS :)
This is NOT a root so dont worry - you will get the ICS update when it comes and this is really easy to follow.
Go to: http://www.lg-phones.org/lg-optimus-3d-android-2-3-5-gingerbread-v21a-download.html
and download the europe open V21a file from the link there
And then follow all the instructions here: http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-flash-kdz-on-lg-optimus-3d.html
IT WORKS!! :)
^^ When i updated, I didn't lose ANY data. I'm not sure why since from what i knew we are supposed to come with a clean phone running 2.3.5 but yay :) i dont need to restore all my apps now :)

I have an "open" unlocked lg optimus 3d yet i still cant update today!!!! has it not yet been released!? i contacted their live support and they said as far as they knows its been released today. i might just root my LG :|

Does optimus 3d have virtual surround option in music app please.It does have equaliser but interested in any surround sound options..i am trying to find out if other mobiles have the sound of concert hall setting in Samsungs.I can buy this second hand on ebay but need to know if it has virtual surround like LG optimus 2x has thanks..

well its the 5th and still no luck on gb just waiting to read somewhere it will be coming in 2012 just wont hear anything from lg and their fantastic customer services and yes that is sarcasm lol ...

SAME!!! I have an open model in the UK... it comes up with the update screen but then it says "Model not supporting S/W Update"... guess I still have to wait till tomorrow then...

got the gingerbread update (2.3.5) from lg.com-support- software update, it is absolutely fabulous :D we have waited allot but its a good update after all, you can now use the 3D button as a camera shutter ;)

and then installed FM apks. It is working for me, great.
I think, you are still on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and need to upgrade.

1-install all FmService.apk & FmRadioProvider.apk & FmRadio.apk.
2-plug in the headphone,turn on the BT.
3-run FmRadio, and click the auto searching button.

Well then u should not buy stu... moreTrue it may be official update for not officially the way to do it why should we pay £300.to do it this way i expect good customer support,originally lg said october u asked in july when i bought my phone which is unbranded and sim free so where is the 21st of nov update then?lg lied about the update so if id known at december id still be reseting my phone and pulling the battery 3 times a day id of bought something better lg are crap at phones i hope others who have been lied to jump ship and sink lg phone dept for good....
