Had the lg 4x hd 2 weeks now the phone is very fast and smooth no lags battery is good lasts one and a half days no heating issues screen is amazing camera is excellent had 2 software updates already best phone ive had by far would highly recommend this phone had no problems so far

Just say that you are a Samsung fan, or HTC or whatever, but don't slam LG because it doesn't deserve this treatment. I have never seen the problems you seem to be having in any of the reviews on the web. Yeah, the battery isn't that good, but it is a quad core for pete's sake, it is normal, the camera has its issues, an update will sureley come for fixing the autofocus, the heating problem is present on all smartphones, including your beloved S3, search the web, why would you knock the screen? Are you having mental problems? It is known that S3 has a cheap building quality, and you now say that it's like wow...for many, the almost stock android 4.0 that is installed on the LG, is the best version, because it's easier to use for basic users. I don't think that all smartphone users are android developers. HTC is the most complicated to use, so it isn't a viable solution. Each one has different oppionions, and you can't say which phone is better, because they were built for different customers, with different needs. I sincerely tell you that I don't need to pay 150-200$ more for an S3 which is almost the same as O4X in term of specs, the LG being cheaper.
As a conclusion, I sincerely want you guys not to believe this cheat who's speaking rubbish.

well pino, it 'almost' only. The absent of apps to SD and the absent of backup apps (without the need off rooting) is the major drawbacks.. I wonder if there any free backup apps that can be used without root ? Can u name it ?

I have all 3 of the quad core phones - One X, $X HD and GS3, so I can compare & comment from real world experiences with these phones.
Build quality HTC One X definitely come out on top. Samsung & LG about the same quality. Touch screen response & accuracy HTC & Samsung very close, LG worst of the three. Also, try to knock on the front screen of the 3 phones with your finger nail, where you will notice the HTC & Samsung glass feel solidly bold on to the body, the LG screen produce a loose & hollow sound; which does not feel quality nor pleasant to the ears!
HTC Sense UI is best of the 3 in most ways, Samsung UI too complicated and can be confusing for the new user, whereas LG UI is very simple to the point I find boring.
Battery wise, Samsung is best(most consistent), HTC battery smallest but can always last longer than the LG battery(which is terrible!), but both have the same inconsistency; which I believe has to do with the tegra 3 chip?!
Although the all heat up, LG heat up badly compare to the other two quad core phones.
Out of the 3 phones mentioned, I'm least satisfy with the LG 4X HD, even though all phones have their pros & cons.
I still have my LG mini with me, which has a very nice & clear screen(can see & feel that the glass on the phone is very clear & made out of top quality glass), but I do not find the same on the LG 4X HD!!...why??
Yes, 4X HD is the cheapest of the 3 phones, but I still will not recommend it unless it's selling for half the price of the other 2 phones.
I got my GS3 for 3 days now, and received a couplre of updates already. Also receive a few updates from HTC for the One X in the past months of using the phone. BUT, after more than 10 days of using the LG 4X HD, I've not receive a single OTA update from LG!!!

Mostblurguyinworld, 18 Sep 2012so do u mean that the firmware f version is most good one??yes its the latest version and has the biggest changes in it some adress heat and battery use and theres a new camera feature in it.
plus all the hotfixes from google are inthere.

but does that really matter is the question.
this phones software is nice and basic its faster then all competition.
it leaves more ram free then any competition there are no flaws in the firmware left apart from the moving apps to the actual SD slot but they might fix that in jellybean,
with new loaders you can change whatever you want in the roms working so why care about custom roms when you can already do everything you want.

This phone probably has the best battery life among all the other quad-core phones as my friends are using them and its display is better than AMOLED as it is eye pleasing and render good colours go for it guys you will not at all be dissatisfied

so, how many months we have to wait until the bootloader get unlocked ? Any idea ? I'm hoping that the ANDROID sifu, guru, sensei and GENIUS will find the solution into this situation. Please, for the sake of LG smartphone fans and all ANDROID fans, do us a favour to unlock it and enable the custom ROM developments... I'm begging all of you, please............ I LOVE LG (LIFE'S GOOD) SUPER SMARTPHONES !!! Thanks in advance...

better than s3 in no i ve had both and stuck with this has slightly better screen and much better cpu and gpu.

Don't be so fool looking at the number of comments and then comparing Samsung with LG. Samsung has won its clients with the S2, who was sold in a massive quantity, and LG messed up big time with the Optimus 2X which wasn't updated at all, being kinda laggy. It seems that LG has finnally realised what their clients want and you will see from now on a very competitive LG. It is already clear that they started to change their phylosophy when they launched the 4X, and the killer Optimus G, the best phone on the market. LG will come on top in one or two years, and this can only be good for us the consumers. And by the way, you know that quantity(Samsung) doesn't always mean quality(LG).

and yes sadly fanboy stupidity clouds the vision and theres not a lot of interest in this phone while it has the best hardware out of the 3 phones...
also people fail to admid that the firmware on the 4x hd is just fine and they just cant get over the 2x speed which had a bad firmware at release.
due to these idiotic people theres not a lot of development forthis phone.
and 1 thing lg has to fix is the bootleader they locked it up so much that its still not cracked which still makes custom roms impossible.
