Music Player, 16 Jan 2013Recently im hearing bubble cracking like sound when im play... moreeither you have killed the speaker by pitting it to loud (eben tho they can be loud they still are NOT made for it and thus it should not be done) or your pgone cpu is busy with something else making it process the sound wrong (can be a faulty app).
so try a different music player and make sure no other apps are running and if all else fails maby a factory reset.
if none of it helps you most likely killed the speaker.
people tweaking there speaker vollume are simply asking to blow up there speaker.
they are not made to stand this torture.
bass sounds also easely kil your speaker as the internal parts of the speaker have to move more and they are not made for this.
so fi you listen to music with a lot of bass and upped the vollume to much you might have killed the speaker.
personaly i only use the speaker vor ringtines and sounds that do not create any bass as it is known to kill phone speakers over the past 10 years.

I bought this phone this year and i am really satisfied.
I paid 300€(Germany; ratio price:performance is great.
The one and only negative aspect is that the phone is getting very hot during playing games for a while. And I mean really hot.
Nevertheless I can recommend to everyone for this price.

lguser , 12 Jan 2013Our LG what they are doing in office?
how will they imp... moreI'm running the latest V10H firmware (after removing all stock bloatware) and I'm in India. It's true that the Indian versions are only up till V10E. But download the Europe Open V10 .kdz file and flash it through kdz flasher and you've got the latest firmware.
Do a google search or visit the lg O4X section at xda. You don't even need to be rooted to do this. If you want, you can always revert back to Indian firmware by flashing it back.
As for the JB update it's stated to be in Q1 2013 (Jan). It can be delayed (LG has been notorious for that) but they will deliver it for sure. In my books, that's better than not updating at all like Motorola and like what Sony Ericsson did with their first android phones like X10, X8, etc.

Bought the O4X a couple of days before. My previous phone was a SEW8 which had a 3" HVGA display, outdated ARMv6 cpu, below 300MB RAM, flashless 3 mp cam- as anybody can guess, the O4X is a pretty big upgrade to me.
Pros-
1) It's fast. Unbelievably so for a guy like me who had a phone with below par hardware which stuttered even while switching homescreens (even with custom roms and supercharging). The Tegra 3 SoC with four Cortex A9 cores and a fifth underclocked one along with a 12-core gpu makes this a future-proof phone for quite a while.
2) Stock rom is actually pretty good. It might not have the sheer amount of features that Touchwiz has nor is it as slick and attractive as Sense, but it's a really sweet job done by LG. It's smooth, glitch-free, not too intrusively skinned and has some surprisingly useful touches at various places.
3) Excellent 4.7" 720p display. I'm floored by the sheer quality of this display. Maybe it's because I'm coming from a near bottom end phone, but this is easily one of the best displays I've seen on a cell phone. I've seen the S3 and One X's screens too. While I liked them both, I wasn't a big fan of the former's over-saturated colors and the Pentile matrix (to be fair, it's barely noticeable on the S3) but in the black levels and sunlight legibility it reigns supreme. I liked the One X's display a lot. Great contrast and colors, icons look like they're painted on the glass, good blacks for an lcd. The O4X's display is about the same league- it has slightly worse viewing angles and contrast isn't as amazing, and it is more reflective resulting in lesser sunlight legibility but it's still a wonderful display. Not much compromises at all considering that the O4X costs less than the competition.
4) Nice 8MP Camera(Sony 1/4.0 IMX111PQ BSI sensor). Not too impressive (compared to the others) with stock software but with the Camera hack v5, it takes pretty good pics. Haven't taken any vids yet. Flash is very powerful. I'm not at all demanding about phone cameras and this is great for me. Compared to the competition, I think that the camera ranking would very roughly be like this- SGS3> One X> LG O4X.
5) Sexy Design and build. Everything said here is my personal preference- YMMV here. The one thing that turned me off big time from the SGS3 was its wussy, girlish glossy white design with the rounded corners. Inspired by nature (a pebble I think, in this case), sure, but according to me, pebbles belong at the bottom of a river or on river banks/driveways or in the wilds- not in a gadget and especially a phone. I'd take edgier designs any day, thank you. The SGS3 looked far better in blue, but I couldn't still come to terms with it. A black color option would have been better- but such a color isn't available. Grey's there- but I don't think it's widely available in India. I liked the OneX's design and the cool build. Even though it had rounded corners too, it looked far more upscale than the SGS3 thanks to the excellent sand blasted matte finish and the unibody build. It even looked good in white. Lack of expansion slots and non removable battery were compromises.
The O4X does best here, IMHO. It evokes some of the SGS2's angular design, but it does better by having a unique dual frame on the sides even if it's impractical and the love-it-or-hate-it saffiano leather patterned back cover found previously on the Prada 3.0. In black, the O4X looks absolutely stunning and turned a lot of heads at my workplace. Build quality is pretty solid too. The wafer thin back cover may feel flimsy while removing it, but when it's secured, it's solid and has no creaking or flex. My only gripe is the lack of further protection for the camera lens even though it's covered by glass.
6) Removable battery, expandable storage. The recent trend among manufacturers to omit memory card slots and removable batteries for the sake of design is worrisome. Only Samsung and LG (except in Optimus G and Nexus 4) are sticking to the basics. It's much cheaper to pay for a 64gb class 10 card (working and running fine on the O4X) than to pay through the nose for a high capacity variant (eg- htc One X+, iPhones as usual).
7) Easy to root and install recovery.
8) Obviously, runs all the games with ease. Shadowgun, GTA3, Dead Space, etc all running smoothly.
9) Web browsing is very fast through wifi. Panning and zooming is smooth. Reading on this screen is a pleasure with sharp fonts even at small sizes.
Cons-
1) Mediocre battery life. It packs a 2150 mAH specially made battery by LG Chem, but the combination of powerful hardware and big hd display seems to easily run it dry. It's not too bad- I can get a day's use with light gaming, movie watching, wifi browsing, calls, etc. But it's possible only if you're aware of of the battery life- get carried away and you'll be bringing home a dead phone.
2) Locked bootloader. As a senior dev in xda famously said, LG is incapable of making good phones- only the unlocked bootloaders and low,low prices saved their a$$es. That statement is true for the O2X which had seriously bad stock software which ruined the whole user experience. Unlocked bootloaders mean better community support and usually good custom roms. The O2X has an unlocked bootloader and hence has a flourishing dev community on xda.
Though the O4X has good stock software this time, it has a locked bootloader. The dev scene for this phone is almost stagnant. That is a bad move by LG. The O4X has some serious potential. I think that there is a lot of possibility for major power savings and performance boosts in custom roms.
I hope that LG won't follow Motorola's path by being as dev unfriendly as possible. There has been a statement made by a guy from LG Dutch that the bootloader will be unlocked in the upcoming JB update to the O4X in Q1 2013 (this month most probably). There's a high probability of that happening- LG kept its word and came out with an ICS update (even though they were very late) for the O2X and released the Tegra 2 codes last year. Thus, if they unlock the BL, Life's Good indeed. Else, I won't be buying another LG phone again.
3) Poor audio quality. Loads of distortion and terrible stereo imaging. There's an annoying background hum to some songs when using the stock player. I use a Clip Zip for my music needs so I'm not at all bothered by this. For those intending to use this as a primary music source, stay away. It's even worse than the OneX which itself is quite $hitty sounding (no surprise since they share the same chipsets). The SGS3 is the most audiophile friendly with a nice Wolfson DAC, good sound quality along with support (correct me if I'm wrong) for usb audio out (great news for amp users).
Verdict
As obvious, the O4X has no real drawbacks for me. For guys with similar tastes and has no brand snobbery, the O4X is a great buy. You get powerful hardware with a nice stock rom all packed in a svelte, good looking body.
The locked bootloader is the only real drawback I can see here. If it remains locked, it will be like buying a pig in a poke. But the chances are high that it will be unlocked in the upcoming JB update. Those with propensity for custom roms will have to pay more at the moment- the One X and the SGS3 cost more than teh O4X. The battery life can be improved for sure with good roms and kernels. The audio quality is definitely poor- it's not an issue for me since my main portable source is a Clip Zip.
So, it's been a great buy for me. At a midrange price, I got a flagship phone. This phone is definitely recommended- it's a very balanced and has no major weaknesses.

AnonD-99919, 11 Jan 2013help.....what should i take, sony arc s or this lg. same price..you should not compare arc s and 4x hd. Lg is 5 times more powerfull. Even flagship xperia s is much weaker than 4x hd. The only competition from 2 cored phones would be devices with s4 processor as htc one s in germany.

AnonD-99919, 11 Jan 2013help.....what should i take, sony arc s or this lg. same price..they cannot be the same price.
the arc s is a single core phone with 512 ram the 4x is a quad core phone with 1 gig ram and 15.65 gig more storage.
you prolly mean the experia S without the arc in between which should still be atleast 40ish euros cheaper then the LG
and thats a dual core phone.
both will be great phones what you choose is up to you.
but im pretty sure the experia s will be phased out soon since sony has several models to replace it now.
