The Gingerbread required a minimum 1Ghz processor to be fully functional so to use it on the Optimus One would mean even more lag than what you're experiencing now.

g3 i5801 Vs O1 p500
resolution-better in O1
speakers- almost same
touch- feels better in g3 (so difficult to judge which is better)
preinstalled applications- O1 good
speed- better in g3
games- again good in g3 coz of faster proccessor and ram
camera- almost same.
os- O1 with 2.2 froyo and g3 with 2.1 eclair.but with froyo, O1 has to be more better than g3 as g3 with 2.1 eclair

my phone is just a week old and i already have a problem. my Aldiko e-reader is acting up. i've been reading a book on it for the last few days and it was fine. but today when i opened the book, the screen blacked out. when i press back it goes back to the book shelf. i tried switching the phone off and on but no use. any suggestions?

i got 11700 rs from mumbai.
faar better then galaxy 3 which my brother is having.
free navigation,thinkfree office and many more apps from lg .

On of the best phone from LG.
costs not more than INR ~11500/- with 2.2 OS version.
Touch is good.
40 Preinstalled apps by LG.
Camera is 3.2MP without flash.
but Froyo takes it all.

hey guys important news for all the ppl who r looking to buy optimus 1. samsung has announced 4 new mid range android handsets out of which gio and ace rule over optimus 1 in terms of specs.i think gio will be the direct competitor of opt. 1.all of u shud chk these ph on gsmarena.these ph might cum 2 india within a month.so better chk out that.
