3)yes, but you'll be charged for the wi-fi/gprs connection that you use according to the corresponding plans.
4)yes, you can use 'multipicture' live wallpaper. You can find it at the market.
5)use a class 10 sd card. yes, you can copy the sd card files via your pc.
6)You can blacklist numbers if you use Handcent SMS. Long press the thread of the people that you want to block->choose "blacklist" at the context menu and confirm. The thread will disappear (you can unblacklist it and view all blocked messages later).
If you want to block a call, add the number to your contacts. Go to contacts->press upon that contact->press the hard menu button->options->check incoming calls(send calls directly to voicemail).

ok here are my questions once more
1 ..can u tell em how to protect the handset from that fine dust particles settling just behind the screen.
I suspect they enter from the corners as well as through the earpiece as well ?? i have seen a few guys complaining about that, and pointing it out here as i hate that when it happens :P
2.. also are there many versions of opera available for andriods coz i donno the one i downloaded and installed from LG site seems not that fsat :P
3.. also with skype can i actually make free calls :P ( off course it ll eat the bandwidth , that i know ;) )
4 ..another thing - is it possible to have diff wallpapers for diff screens ?
5..i have seen people complaining abt card issues and all , what are the directs for adding a new card , coz i think by default the applications directory is located on the card , so i guess the best way would be to get a card ( which you will suggest , the type and class )and format it with fat and copy every file from the existing card on to the new one , and keeping the phone off while all this.
6..where are the options to block calls and/or smses from a certain number or address ?
LOL i know i am being such a noob , but then its my first android :P

parmeet, 19 Jan 2011U should go for lg optimus one its far better than galaxy.3not so gud....galaxy 3 is far more better in term of quality and quantity...galaxy 3 is much more user friendly dan optimus one....i just wasted my money for buying it....

I wanted to upgrade my memory card. So is it enough if i just copy all the files via pc from one to other? Also will I lose my Ndrive maps licence when i change it?

I have the default firmware the phone came with v10b. i am currently getting just above 2 days battery life. no bugs experienced so far since a month of ownership. all systems fine. Should I update to v10c ? I am currently experiencing no problems whatsoever except some minor problems like not being able to zoom while recording video.. Is this fixed in v10c? should I update? I have read some negative opinions about this matter in this site. So can anyone give me proper details?

You can download yahoo mails by configuring the push email settings for the yahoo application. Then press the hard menu button->settings->accounts and sync. See if Auto-sync is checked. Tap on your Yahoo mail icon->press the hard menu button->More->Settings->Send & Receive->Set download frequency. On the Account Settings page you can also adjust Notification etc. But remember, the more you set the frequency of incoming mail "pushes", notifications, etc., the more battery power your phone will eat up.

The sd card recognition/unmounting problem is not a software or a hardware problem, it's really the sdcard.
If it was software: it would probably be fixed with the update to 2.2.1 & it wouldn't be fixed with another sdcard.
If it was hardware: it wouldn't be fixed with another sdcard nor 2.2.1 update.
If it was the sdcard itself: it wouldn't be fixed with 2.2.1 and would be fixed with another sdcard. (this is what happens)
Most people i guess are buying the class 4 sd cards whereas I have been told that our optimus one is compatible with class 10 sd cards. Even class 6 sd cards are running smoothly. So it's better to purchase a class 10 sd cards. I use an 8gb sandisk sd card and it runs flawlessly. For your info - The Speed Class Rating is the official unit of speed measurement for SD Cards. The Class number represents a multiple of 8 Mb/s (1 MB/s), and meets the least sustained write speeds for a card in a fragmented state.

The speed with which an application runs depends on the RAM and the CPU power/processor speed. The memory card is required just to hold the application content, data and cache(if required). Some games like the 'angry birds' lag due to the fact that the physics of the game or graphics(such as 3d in other games) are only able to be rendered in high performance devices. But 'angry birds' lags only for the first time. Once you set the target/trajectory it doesn't lag the next time.
Sometimes when even the you tube application lags, it's because of the mediaserver service which provides the video playback. When it starts lagging it's lagging in all apps with video.

In short, taskillers sometimes kill essential CPU cycles or android applications required by the system to work properly. You can do 2 things-go to settings->applications->manage applicatons->running->select the application which is running unnecessarily->force stop. This is the easiest method to prevent an app from using battery and CPU(and better than taskillers). You can also go to settings->about phone->battery use->select an app->force stop.
Note: Rooting is not safe as it can 'brick' your phone.(No recovery,no reboot)

divx and avi? Has anyone tr... moreDivx is a codec whereas avi is a container or "wrapper". So in short, a avi file may contain a divx.
Just downgraded from V10c to V10b.
New users may want to avoid updating to the new V10c.
Did not find a single apparent advantage with V10c (at least nothing apparent). On the other hand it made the phone slower which is sacrilegious! Updates should make devices faster if possible and not the other way around! Most other uses have reported sluggishness after upgrading. Rooting is also currently not possible with the new firmware.
Further, the new firmware has littered my SD card with heaps of apk files. Most likely this was done by the new LG Installer that gets installed. All the apks on the card were offered by the LG installer for installing, hence it is the prime suspect.
Can someone in the know tell me if its ok to delete these apk files now. Would there be other unneeded files associated with these?
Hand to re-download and re-install Swype each time as it seems to not funciton after a firmware upgrade or downgrade.
LG stop putting garbage on our phones and stop releasing buggy updates like this and wasting our time. I'm very annoyed with you. We can figure out what we need on the phone and really, really don't need your advice, Argggghhhh!

Nokia email allows automate download of yahoo emails, even without Yahoo!Plus. Does this LG allow to set it to download yahoo automatically, like Nokia email?

Hi im a newbie to the o1.been using it for about a week now and satisfied wit it except that when i receive calls,the caller will be identified as unknown even though i have exported the contacts.it doesnt even show the caller's number.however this does not happen to sms.would someone out there help me solve the prob?
