play any song using the 'music' application->press the hard menu button on your phone->set as ringtone.
Now open the 'messaging' app->press the hard menu button->settings->select ringtone. The song that you set as phone ringtone will be shown in the list.
You can use the app 'ringdroid' for cutting and editing the mp3 songs and set them as ringtones using the above pocedure.
For readymade ringtones, you can use the app 'zedge'.

got issues with optimus one. after purchasing all good then only two weeks ago no google no net no incoming calls no face book so annoyed and no real help so so so annoyed

This is a really good phone ... but really do not try to update to gigngerbread because it will never be on lg optimus... i killer my phone with official update and now i must pay for repair.... but my phone was brand new grade 10/10... DO NOT UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i never read the manual for this phone.. but i used almost all features of this phone myself.. now i am addicted to this phone.. daily i download atleast 10 applications for this phone and delete atleast 6 of them.. i have downloaded a lot of screensavers, applications for camera, games, ringtones... its an awesome phone... only problem is battery back-up... please tell me if u come across very good applications to download....
