i have exactly the same problem as varn! it powers up for half a second once per battery insertion, and that's after freezing on me and the software going all over the place.

I have had BIG problems with this phone. Initially it would freeze or turn itself off, this was rememdied by removing and replacing the batttery. This then progressed to it crashing and losing my multi-media messages and not giving me full options when using the video camera or plain camera, before a screen of data appeared. Now it just doesn't turn on, it shows lit screen for a few seconds tehn dies again, this occurs only once per insertation of battery, otherwise it is dead to the world!!!!!!!!! Annoying has anyone else had these problems?
I have yet to contact 3 yet will keep posted

Has anyone else had to send their phone back cause it keeps freezing or even better not turning on? Customer service on 3 moibile is really bad!!

Do not get this fone, it luk gud ok, but the thing is its a 3g fone, any fone on the 3 network means that you have 2 have £15 pound on your fone every month or else they cut you off! AND if you put £15 at the beginnin and only use ten pound of it you loose the other £5, how pathetic, thats put me right off this fone

I was never one for; Clam-shell phones, -A bit like holding a ladies compact case- but I seem to have become quite taken with this one. ..And really enjoying the ease in which you manipulate the 'menu'.
Though I have found that there is the tendancy to curl a finger around the aerial when using it. -Not sure if such a good idea!-

I think that the phone LG U8120 is very good and small for oyur pocket..

One thing that blew me away, is that when accessing email it actually reads it out to you (in a digital voice). This is awesome. I was expecting to read my email, so a big surprise. You access email when you ring your Voice Mail Box. Doesn't recognise pictures or video, from what I've found (and it will read out every single letter/number when it fails to send the email with all the stuff that we usually don't read in our emails like: server types, coding, etc (annoying). Still totally amazing potential with the phone. Needs larger Battery (Mine lasts about half a day when making calls, video, internet).

Yep, frequent freezing seems to be due to having lots of files (mp3, video, photos) saved on the phone. Also lots of sms, voicemail, and email messages does this too (if not deleted). Software seems to crash often with heavy internet use (switch off, weird characters). My phone currently won't let me turn down the volume before/during or after a call. Also if you are in Internet or 3G services mode it hates when you do it while driving (as this also freaks it out when out of range). Let the battery cool too, as this affects performance.

Excellent. Maxed out mp3 music on my phone, uploaded videos from pc (need to use free nokia download to convert files), pics uploade from pc. Remember to use Phone Manager correctly, cut and past only from it's MENU (not your PC menu).

Hold down the "c" button on the top right of your phone for a few secs (while making a call). This will activate the loudspeaker. It actually is in the manual, but well hidden. The icon is a speaker on the bottom of the c=clear button.
