I have installed the s/w cd given with the LG 8120. What software do I need so that I can import images and videos from the phone onto my laptop? I am unable to do this with the LG software.
Help would be much appreciated

does anyone know if when the 8120 is unlocked does it have web viewer to access internet on other networks as was thinking of getting phone unlock but was not sure if this would work anyone any idea thanks

hey, i like this fone but many ppl i have talked to about it have said that its shyte. i would like an opinion from sum ppl who do or have had this fone, wats good and bad about it. a list of pros and cons.

my LG U8120 is ready to be sent back to the supplier, it failed after 2 weeks , for no reason, I fuming because I have lost all my photo clips, my video, nothing can be recovered according to the vendor, usesless, can nor recommend to anybody, be aware, btw, LG is already proposing U8150 and U8110 who cares? once bitten twice shy, bye lg, no more tears

Hi there,first of all thanks to David,for his topic ,tryed it and works great.Thanks again.Second ,the phone is unlockble.I am from Romania,I went there to unlok mine and in 1 minute was ready.So you must try more ,to find someone who knows unlocking phones.

Have tried to get the phone unlocked in a few stores in glasgow but no one could unlock it was advised must be the new model but it is a standard 8120 as far as i know if anyone has any ideas would be greatfull thanks

Here in australia, it's different, $12 AUD per month. If you use it, for example, $5 AUD, you pay $17 AUD for the month. Once the $249 AUD is payed off from the $12 AUD per month excluding extra charge from calls, because $249 AUD is the retail price here, you don't pay the $12 AUD a month anymore. You only pay how much you use. Eg. $5 AUD one month, you pay $5 AUD. Next month, $10 AUD, you pay $10 AUD.
I don't seem to have problems with my phone either. It you read the warnings and cautions, make sure the phone isn't in hot places or cold places. Keep it in a moderate place.
If you are recharging and it doesn't go pass a certain point, like it freeze, disconnect the charger, turn phone on and off and then connect the charger again or disconnect charger, turn off phone, take out battery and put it back in, connect charger again.
To transfer things and stuff onto phone from computer, put in the CD. Install LG Phone Manager. Plug in USB to computer and plug into phone. If you have Windows XP, it will say new USB port thing detected. Install them using the drivers on the CD. Start up LG Phone Manager, click on contents, then, select the port number with the *. Eg. Mine is COM5 * so I use COM5 * to connect my phone with computer. Then, connect. The LG phone should have three folders, Audios, Images and Videos. Just drag things in and out from them.
For GThing, the COM Port is 2 numbers less than the LG Phone Managers. Eg. My LG Phone Manager port is COM5 *. So for GThing, It's COM3. Select category and drag things in and out from it. I suggest using GThing verions 1 for the LG U8120 which can be found at

Hi, just got my phone and like the menu and the phone. But I canNOT get the USB connection to work. COM ports work, but connection fails. Anyone with the problem - and a solution???? CAn see from the debate that other have managed to get it to work, while one person seems to think it's not worth the while to try with the software - dunno what to think!

Hi there,
yes I have unlocked the phone.I had to pay 10 euros for it.It works great and doesnt freezes.All in one its a great phone.I was concerned to buy it ,too,but than I took the risks and believe me,it worth.
I am from Romania ,the phone was bought from Itali fro TRE Network,now it work on Orange Network ,without problems.The only thing that is not so cool ,in Romania there is no G 3 network,so I cant use the phone for video calling.
