AnonD-727223, 30 Dec 2017My VS995 running US996 gets very hot in the processor regio... moreCharging voltage starts higher when battery level is zero or very low and tapers off when the phone is almost fully charged. Quick charge actually wears the battery faster compared to traditional slow charging. The good thing with the V20 is you can charge the battery with the external charging accessory (LG BCK 5200). It doesn't quick charge so it makes your V20 batteries last longer. In the meantime you can just put in the fully charged spare battery and have absolutely zero downtime.

Mobile signal: My V20 has no problems but that's because it covers all the GSM/WCDMA/LTE spectrum used in my area. Other users here have complained of poor signal because of purchasing a V20 model which doesn't have matching frequency band in area. You can view the complete list of network frequencies operating in your country at Wikipedia.org

Heating issue: The V20 heats up but nothing I'd call unusual.as I've had other smart phones in the past that actually run hotter but are still functiona and work OKl up to now.

I don't have screen retention issue and battery life normally lasts me a day more often than not. Maybe because of the way I customize my V20 screen.
          Here's my custom settings:
Theme - high contrast (black theme)
Launcher - Nova launcher prime with gestures.
Phone Wallpaper: SB wallpaper changer - wallpaper changes every few hours
Shortcut icons - my phone almost has none except a few at the bottom. Everything else I launch from the app drawer or launch using tap, swipe and other gestures. Other apps are in the second screen.
Screen brightness - I use an app called Lux Dash premium. It smoothly dims my phone when its dark and brightens it when its bright outside. It not only avoids excessive screen brightness that may cause screen retention, but it also significantly improves battery life - try it.
I also hide home touch buttons for ALL apps (settings - display - home touch buttons - hide home touch buttons)
I use 'back button' app for navigation and place it anywhere I like (movable location but I mostly position it vertically at the right side of the screen near my thumb for easier access).
Second screen: set to display date and time when main screen is off, and display signature, app shortcuts and empty screen (quick tools) from time to time. Try these settings on your V20. It will leave your V20 with only the network icons, time and battery logo static.

UrbanBeast, 28 Dec 2017I am a proud owner of LG V20 for 3 months now. I have the H... moreHiccups and lags solution:
Solution 1: Go to settings -> general -> apps -> configure apps (three dots at the upper right) -> special access.
            Choose:
Ignore optimizations - turn ON for All apps (default is off)
From the same 'special access' menu,
            Choose next:
Draw over other apps - turn OFF for ALL apps. (except messaging)

            Other stutter/lag busting remedies:
Enable developer options if not enabled already.
            1. Turn ON 'force gpu rendering'
            2. Set window animation scale, transition animation scale and animator duration scale to 0.5 for all three.
            3. Restart phone.

            Download Nova Launcher
Go to nova settings -> look and feel
Set both 'scroll speed' and 'animation speed' to 'fast'.

That's it. Let me know how all these adjustments go on your V20.

I am a proud owner of LG V20 for 3 months now. I have the H990DS B&O version btw. Screen retention, noticeable hiccups and lags, heating, sub-par battery life, and mobile signal are the only known issues in my unit and it bothers me every time it happens. Good thing its battery is removable, 0-100% in seconds. The battery kit is a useful accessory, everyone who owns a V20 should consider buying it. I seldom charge my phone using the fast charger for I'm used in swapping batteries. I yet to test its camera, video, and audio recording capabilities to its full potential soon. So far, I haven't regretted buying this phone. I can't promise myself to keep this unit long-term. As long as it satisfies my demands, this would stay with me for a while.

              Q:Should I recommend the V20?
              A:Yes no doubt.

              Q:Why?
A: Budget-friendly, feature-packed and upgradeable to Oreo soon (March or April 2018).

Praise for the V20 is expected in this forum. After all, this is a camp of happy V20 owners. There is no need to ask such questions. This forum should be used for exchange of true information and experiences about V20.

I'm just very disappointed because the phone looks so good on paper and in marketing materials and I wanted to buy one but couldn't get past the dim screen. It's more ugly too in real life because the bezels seem bigger when you see the phone in person. Anyways, If the screen had been brighter I probably would have bought it. Screen quality is important to me and it's actually a feature that most people don't realize they're always using whenever they're using the phone and I was shocked when I saw my G4 and V20 side by side both set to 65% brightness and the V20 was noticeably a lot dimmer. Btw I was happy with my G4's screen minus the screen retention problem that got worse and worse with time.

That said, I've seen the screen on the V30 and it's an amazing step up for LG.

There are no issues whatsoever with my two V20's... No burn in, no bootloop, no stutter, etc. The first one (the older B&O model) I bought at around $510. The second one (the newer non B&O model) I bought at around $290. Both brand new H990DS models! The V20 is priced around $290 now, I just couldn't resist buying a second one as I love the first one. Really excellent value. No regrets or buyer's remorse whatsoever. The $290 V20 is the best. I just wished I'd waited a little longer though. I would have saved some serious cash with my first V20.

Not so old but looks like lots of blank space bottom and top, it's odd when compared to v30+ and replaced battery kinda looks odd!
